She may have liked to think Eleanor was her sister, her true friend, but he was the one who really knew her when they were growing up together, and she was the only one who ever even had a chance of truly understanding him and who he is. While being sold and transported to the mainland, hearing the news of Madi's death changes him. How could he not be changed after they separated a integral part of him -- a part which shouldn't have been able to be separated -- from himself? His spirit's gone, his faith's gone. But when Gabriel hears the news of her uprising, he's changed one more time and inspired to revolt and return to Nassau with anybody else he can.
LITTLE EXTRA : So Madi and Silver were beautiful in the finale, especially the ending scene/s, but I feel like Flint's curse might be coming true if there was another season, so here's another gorgeous man, who might become a pirate captain too, but his wants and aspirations aint at odds with their relationship or her goals
Speaking of her goals, the story can definitely go AU where the 2 of them fight Silver's deal and continue the war -- maybe they even bust Flint and Hamilton out
