A big part of why she turned down Ms. Klein when she approached her with a offer was that she was happy with her life; she's self-aware enough to know that's thanks to her perfect family, even though they've had it rough lately, but some creepy lady she only needs to see for a few minutes of her life doesn't need to know all that. But after a car crash that has her somehow waking up on the forest floor with gaps in her memory has her thinking she might need to see her again and have words. First she needs to get out of wherever she is and the girl running by with perfect form looking like she's searching for something might be able to help with that.

So far as her backstory she's had a pretty golden life with the best parents and least one big brother, far as the shit they been going through lately I was thinking either her high-powered parents fucked up and lost a lot of money or her brother died and she feels like they been resenting her for it -- maybe they have that's up to you -- or maybe both or something else entirely it's your decision and Oneida herself wants to go to medical school and she's been getting a head start so she's definitely the doctor of the group and we all know they need one of those

Also I recently discovered Erana aint American and the gift that is Sisi Stringer so in case you want to go some super AU route to make Toni's backstory more accurate
Anyways I love the majority of the mains of this show which aint regular for me but even though I really like Shelby and Toni and her have chemistry it's hard to be onboard when I feel like Toni deserves better
Also regarding the main/s I don't love this story has Leah dying and not even at the end in a epic way just at some point along the way her narrow ass has to go -- ideally Leah goes after Oneida bc she feels threatened by her probably bc she's a way more fit leader and Toni takes her out in defense but again ofc it's up to you
