He really wanted life to be more, but he was disillusioned at a young age. These days he just wants this year to be done so he and his family could move away again. He knows his parents are worried he's about to backslide, but he's taking his big sister's advice and picturing how this small, sleepy town can keep him focused and committed til it becomes a reality. He wasn't expecting distractions in a place like this but all his younger siblings are constantly asking him to spend the night in their rooms and even he might be hearing those noises in the woods. One night picking up groceries, something clicks -- some doubt that maybe the world wasn't what he believed it to be -- he doesn't know if it's because his mother's having a freak out in the store or that chick at the end of the aisle who looks too unreal to be doing mundane shit like buying eggs is giving him the most conflicted, pitying look he's ever seen. Of course, the next night when his father sits him down and gives him the too short, vague story about his birth parents, it's when something really clicks.

So there might be a lot of shit I did not appreciate the writers doing to her character, but I'm still using her perception of mortals here -- ofc she's out of fucks for the mortal's plight but Ira and his family starts to change shit for her; just one look at them and she knows how they're about to end up but something else she sees when looking at them hits her deep she sees their love for each other, she's envious of it and it's just this instinctual thing where she wants to protect it and not see flicker out
And moving forward she's very conflicted about saving them from spirits and demons haunting their house b/c it feels like the natural order but she's feeling everything for this family and getting real attached to this family real fast
Yea it might sound a bit like TMI since he's about to learn his father's brother or sister (his birth father or sister) was a witch and his shit's just dormant -- you can change it up and he might never get any power he could just be magic-adjacent
It is creepier than TMI though -- it's like THOHH or Paranormal Activity : The Marked Ones but Prudence comes in and saves everybody
