He chose life at Winchester and he also chose to not give anybody the opportunity to see a fault or weakness in him, he's not getting familiar. But now graduation's a semester away, and while he's trying to get ready for grad school, his dissertation's fucked. After he officially registered to run, his U.S. presidential campaign went viral. It might be the stress, he doesn't think he's hallucinating his exes popping up on campus and sharing gelato though. It's probably all of the above that have him trying MDMA for the first time. He has no idea what's coming out of his mouth, what he's doing with his limbs or his phone. Thank fuck a angel comes by with a confident, soothing voice to get him to sit down and stop talking.
A LITTLE EXTRA : Darien's very lightly based on Elijah Manley -- mostly b/c they share similar experiences that motivated them to do something with their intellect and put their all into making change happen however they can -- and like Elijah Manley it's not really about the election
I was feeling like Darien's bi just b/c I was picturing his aggravating exes real clearly but his sexuality's up to you ofc (just like his name, upbringing/background, etc)
And Blake Griffin could be a back-up FC or maybe Cooper Andrews (I really need to use him more (and Blake less))
Like it's not clear with writing a fic about him but fuck I love this man
This can start out pre-S3 if you want to focus on the 2 of them or not -- the relationship drama's super complex with Lionel and everything lol so good luck with that I feel like it can work as a love square but if you want to simplify things or have Darien waiting in the wings to be noticed during the love triangle or something else entirely go for it whatever feels right for you
