His iron grip on Essos is a illusion. Ofttimes it feels as though the rule he established as he made the move from Pirate King to Father of the Choked and Horned Shan could be disrupted by a wind he did not predict. He was truly still a boy when he set his sights on rising, wholly motivated by proving himself deserving of his first love he forgot after he returned to find himself long forgotten. He may have been the same naive child back then but he wouldn't recognize himself since he cut all the soft parts out of himself. When he sees a woman as young and unused to commanding more power than most people throughout the known world can imagine flying for the first time he welcomes this new different softness seeping into him and refuses to have her worshipped less than himself or anybody else. And so he's on the search for the deity meant to rule beside him along with the Westerosi witch woman he encountered when she was a child herself now seeking out her vision of a goddess not Valyrian in origin but enrapturing all around her with her dragon all the same, and the Dornish princess returning from her journey in Essos to face what's likely her doomed marriage to a Riverland lord.

So Garin II got a little Harald Finehair from Vikings influence and a little K'uk'ulkan from the MCU but he's also just himself

Lol speaking of insert yea I slipped a lotta fancasts in there w Alys having a vision of Netty turning everything on its head -- but failing to find her since she ends up at Harrenhall -- and even though I still aint pirated S2 of S&B I couldn't resist putting a splash of em in also I'd love to see a grown Willem (who's a original character from the show btw) so I couldn't resist pairing Aliandra and him together anyways yea Garin II ends up traveling west w Alys and Aliandra along w some of his own people ofc
Also his empire probably falls apart at some point in the distant future I see it as Westeros incited a coup in Essos but feel free to go wherever you want w it! Shoot you can even make it so Essos is a paradise and Daenerys never feels the need to conquer it
