Apparently Roxy's co-workers didn't realize she'd hired somebody to babysit went she went off after Joe. Might be a good thing they did though. When Roxy first told him he was trying not to freak out since he doesn't know the first thing about kids and she was clearly already freaking out about this mystery man in danger. He was so busy trying to cook dinner he didn't even remember to pick Malika up from school until somebody knocks at the door with her in their arms saying some boy named Jonah sent her over to babysit. Carol's presence alone makes the situation calmer seeing as he was so stressed he didn't even think of putting on a movie til she suggested it. And now that Malika's sleep and they're talking he realizes they have way more in common than he expected -- they both have matching pieces to the puzzle of what their friends are really doing.

I might have covered this in a previous chapter but I'm running out of space so yes this is both a Carol/OC fic and a Joxy fic b/c more Roxy and Joe and some good Carol development is all I need from S2! And feel free to tweak the OC! Just b/c he's afraid of the idea of being responsible for a child doesn't mean Marlon has to be totally innocent/naive with everything Roxy and them are doing -- but he's still kinda separate from the krewe and/or on the fringes since he bonds most with Carol while she's trying to put the pieces together about Jonah
