"...Yeah, uh, yeah. I get it." He said.

    "You understand right?"

   "Yeah, Paige."

    "Okay..."

"Okay I'm going to get in the shower, so I'll talk to you later bye." He hung up.

"OHMYGOD he's totally mad at you." Ava said.

"I wish he would just understand.. I feel like he thinks I hate him. And I don't." I shrugged my shoulders.

Later that night, Ava stayed for dinner and hung out with me for a while. She went home at about 9pm.

I sat on my bed in my pajamas listening to music and scrolling through twitter on my phone. It was 11pm.

I heard someone knocking on my window and turned to see who it was.

    Jack.

I opened the window. "Hey?" I greeted.

"Hey you look cute." He smiled, checking me out.

I looked down at my 5k run T-shirt and my polka dot shorts. Ew.

   "Oh uh, thanks." I giggled.

"Can I come in?" He asked.

"Yeah come around to the back door."

I closed my window and went to the back to let him in. We both walked into my room and sat on my bed.

"So what's up?" I smiled and crossed my legs.

"Just wanted to see you." He pulled me into a tight hug. My head rested on his chest.

"People on Twitter are going insane about us." I said, still wrapped in his hug.

"I know, it's crazy. I feel like some of these girls don't even want me to be happy, but they're my fans you know?"

"I understand where they're coming from, I would be mad too but I wouldn't give you hate for it. That's dumb."

    He released me.

"You know what's weird?" He looked at me.

"What?" I grinned and looked at him.

"When me and the boys met you on the night that you were working, we were going to go to a new pasta place and it was really hard to find, so we took a wrong turn. We ended up driving past the pizzeria and thought it'd be better, so we went inside. It was totally an accident that we met you."

"That's so weird! And it was also a total accident that I bumped into you on the way to the bathroom."

    "You're a clutz." He chuckled.

"Am not!" I playfully hit his shoulder. He hit me back.

"Don't even think about getting into a fight with me." I pointed at him, smiling.

He smirked right before jumping onto me and tickling me. I screamed in surprise, but then started laughing. He poked my sides and laughed whenever I would laugh.

I got a hold of his wrists and pinned them on the bed. He leaned over me, struggling to release his hands. I smiled, because I knew he could easily get them out of my grip them whenever he wanted. He was just pretending like I was stronger.

He stopped struggling and slowly leaned in to kiss me. I put both hands on the back of his head, and he wrapped his arms around my back and pulled me up into his lap. I put one arm around his neck and the other on the back of his head. He held one hand on my back and the other on the back of my neck.

His lips were so soft, and his hair was too. I smelt the familiar cinnamon-spice scent on his Nebraska hoodie. Rain started to pour outside.

He released me and lied down on my pillow, grinning. I lied next to him and put my arm on his chest and my leg on top of his legs.

"Let's go to the Omaha fair tomorrow." He said.

    "What time?" I asked.

"I think it starts at 10am and goes until like 5pm. We could go at 12 or whatever works for you."

    "Okay! Perfect." I said.

We laid on my bed talking for about an hour about random things, stories, our childhood, our family, and other stuff. Jack played with my hair.

I yawned. "Sing for me." I smiled.

"What do you want me to sing?" He asked.

"Surprise me." I closed my eyes.

"Can't you see that it's just rainin', there ain't no need to go outside..." He began to sing Banana Pancakes by Jack Johnson.

The sound of rain hitting the roof, and the sweet sound of jacks quiet and soft singing made me even sleepier.

I woke up the next morning, still cuddled next to Jack. I smiled at how cute he looked. I checked my phone and saw that it was 10am.

"Do you want me to go ask her?" I heard my dad say to my mom upstairs. I heard footsteps above me.

    Oh no.

"Jack!! Jack wake up!!!" I shook him. I heard my dad stepping down the stairs.

"JACK!" I nearly yelled. He snored. I heard my dad walking down the hallway.

I panicked and put my comforter over him.

"Hey Paige?" My dad knocked twice and then opened the door. What's the point of knocking if you're not going to wait for a response?

"Hi." I sat on my bed awkwardly.

"Um are you okay?" He gave me a confused look.

    Jack coughed. Shit.

"Paige who's under there?" He walked closer to me. I blocked his way.

"It's Ava! Who else would it be?" I nervously giggled.

My dad ignored my lie, rolling his eyes. He uncovered Jack.
