Chapter 53 - In N Out

     "Sammy!" I squealed as he tickled my sides. We were all in the parking lot of In-N-Out just hanging out and being stupid.

    Jack looked over at Sammy with a death stare, which didn't bother me. I liked that jealous look on his face... It made me feel superior.

    "Let's EAT!" Jake yelled.

    We all agreed and walked inside.

    "Watch." Jack J said, walking over to the counter.

    "Hi, what can we get for you?" The man said.

    "Hi, can I get a baby daquan?"

    "A what?"

    "A baby daquan?"

    "Did you say a baby daquan?" He asked.

    "Yeah. Do you not have those?" Jack J kept a serious face throughout this whole conversation and I'm not sure how. We were all trying to hold it in.

     "Umm.. sorry? We don't have baby daquans? Is that a food?"

    "Alright nevermind. I'll just get a double-double and a chocolate shake.. Uh, you guys going to order?" He looked back at us and tried not to laugh. We walked forward and told the guy what we wanted.

    We all sat down, taking up 2 booths. When the food came, it was a party. I think about 5 minutes in we were about to get kicked out for being so loud. Occasionally, they'd look over at me to make sure I wasn't shut down.. and I wasn't. I was happy.

    "Paige look." I looked over at Jack as I was taking a bite of my burger. He was snapchatting a video me.

    "Stop!" I said with a mouthful.

    "What was that?" He laughed.

     I laughed and threw a French fry at him. He threw one back.

    Sammy threw one at me, and it went down my shirt.

   "Sam!" I pulled it out of my shirt and threw it back at him. It hit him in the face.

    "Oh, can I keep this?" He held it up.

    "Oh my god." I rolled my eyes and smiled.

    "Hey, do you guys want some fortune cookies?" One of the workers held up a large box.

     Jack looked at me.

    "Why do you have fortune cookies?" Jake said.

    "They're from the Chinese place across the street. I'm taking them home." He looked at us.

    "Uh, yeah sure." He threw one to all of us.

    Everyone said thank you except for me and Jack. We were done with fortunes. I furrowed my eyebrows at the cookie. I love fortune cookies... but I was scared to open it.

    "DEATH! DEATH!" A flashback of the woman stuck inside of my head.

    "Paige?" Jack said.

    "Huh?" I looked at him.

    "Do you wanna open yours?" He asked. All the boys were low-key staring at me, so I played it off.

    "Oh! Yeah. I was just thinking." I smiled. We all opened ours.

    "You will become of great success." Kenny read. He smiled.

    "Talent and creativity are yours to use and keep." Jack J read.

    "The current year will bring you much happiness." Jack smiled at me.

    "You will soon gain something you have always wanted." Nate read.

    "Birthdays are like friends. The more you have, the better." Jake read. He laughed.

    "The most obvious solution is not always the best." Sammy read. He shrugged.

   "It's time for you to explore new interests." Cody read. He looked confused.

    "What's yours say?" Jack asked.

    I know exactly what mine said. But I made something else up.

    "Uh, Good news will arrive soon." I pretended to read.

    Everyone moved on and continued talking.

     "She's coming back."
