When we got to my house, I ran inside to change my clothes. I'm honestly not sure what we were going to do, so I just changed into sport shorts and a hoodie. Who cares. I didn't see my parents, so I called my mom.

  "Hello?" She answered.

   "Hey where are you?"

"We're at Amanda and Bryan's. We'll be staying for dinner. You okay?"

"Yeah I'm still with the boys.. Just came home to change."

"Alright. Call me if you need me."

    "Okay."

    "Okay love you. Bye."

    "Bye."

I hung up and ran upstairs and out the front door to the jeep. I knocked on the window so that Jack J would roll the window down.

   "What's up?" He said.

"My parents aren't home, we could hangout here?"

They all agreed to the idea. One by one they hopped out of the Jeep and walked with me into the house.

"So.. You have food right.." Matt looked at me when we entered the kitchen.

I laughed and walked over to my cupboard and showed him my stash of junk food. He made some weird squealing noise and headed for the cookies.

"There's a movie theater downstairs, and there's enough recliners for all of us." I stated. They all started walking downstairs and Matt was still grabbing food. I laughed and watched as he struggled to carry everything.

"I mean, this is okay right?" He said, balancing a can of cheese dip under his chin.

I giggled. "Eat all you want."

I went over to the sink and grabbed the cactus from the window to water it. I suddenly felt arms around my hips. I whipped around, expecting it to be Cam, but it was Jack.

Was it wrong to expect Cam?

"Jesus. You scared me." I turned back around and continued watering the plant.

"What are you scared of?" He leaned his elbow on the counter and rested his chin in his palm, staring at me.

"Nothing really.. I just get scared easy." I smiled. I didn't want to smile at him just yet, but the puppy dog face he was giving me made me grin whether I liked it or not.

"Isn't your worst fear those one spiders?"

I put the cactus back in the window.

"Why would I tell you? You'd probably put a ton of them in my bed."

   "Me?" He looked shocked.

"No, him." I pointed behind Jack. He looked.

"You're so stupid." I laughed. "Yes, you. You prank me all the time."

"No I don't! Maybe I should since you said that."

    "No don't!" I fake-whined.

    "I won't." He smiled.

"Good because I'm way better at pranking than you." I laughed.

"Are you trying to make this a war, Paige?" He smirked and grabbed both of my hands and entertwined my fingers with his. He was really close to my face.

   "Bring it on." I said.

He leaned in to kiss me, so I closed my eyes.

"HA!" The loud sound of his voice made me jump. He pulled away before our lips touched.

"You thought I was going to kiss you."

"What the hell was that about?" I laughed.

    "I'm good at pranks?"

"If that's the best you can do then there's not really even a competition." I folded my arms.

   "You're so cute." He said.

"Cute as in I will beat your ass cute."

He laughed. For the first time in a while, I felt normal. And I felt happy. Seeing him here in my kitchen, smiling at me, it made me feel like nothing in the world could ever harm me. His smile was all I ever wanted. He was all I needed. Even if I didn't believe it sometimes.

"Can I ask you something?" He said.
