We arrived at the cemetery 10 minutes later. I did not say one word to my parents in the car.
I walked over to Jack's jeep as the guys were getting out and walked in the middle of them with Nash. We walked over to the North end of the cemetery and watched as people sat in the chairs. I stood to the side with all of them. A few people said a few words, and everyone said their goodbyes.
When everyone was done, I walked over to her casket. The boys followed. All at once, they took out roses from of the inside pockets of their blazers. They were all red. Nash handed me a light pink one, which was Ava's favorite color.
I smiled at all of them with tears in my eyes, then swallowed hard and set my rose on top of the casket. They separately set theirs on. I cried and looked around at all of them. Nash was wiping his eyes, so I gave him a hug.
"Bye Ava." I whispered.
We watched as they lowered her into the ground. And that was it.
After saying bye to everybody I walked back to the parking lot with my family, the boys, and Ava's parents.
Ava's parents thanked the boys for coming and said it really did mean a lot to them.
"I'll see you soon, Paige. Thank you." Amanda hugged me.
"We'll see ya. Thank you for the words. Shows how close you two were." Bryan hugged me.
I said goodbye and tried not to cry. They walked back over to where Ava would be buried.
"Do you want to stay with them?" My mom asked.
I looked at the boys, and nodded at my mom. She nodded back and got in the car with my dad and drove off.
"Can I just have a moment with Nash please?" I asked.
"Yeah." They all replied politely. I walked away with Nash to a small tree on the hill.
Before I could say anything, he immediately hugged me. I closed my eyes and allowed him to hold on for as long as he needed.
"You know what's dumb?" He pulled away.
"What?" I said.
"I hadn't even known her for 1 month and I felt like I've known her my entire life. I shouldn't have gotten so attached." He rubbed his eye.
"Don't say that. If you only knew how much she liked you..."
He shook his head. "I finally found someone who I could relate to and just like that- she's gone."
"I'm sorry..." I tear fell from my eye.
He gave me another hug. "I'll be fine." He said.
"We'll be okay. We got each other."
We both started walking back.
"Is everything alright with Jack?" He asked.
"I don't know. I really don't know anything anymore. I just want to disappear." I looked at the ground.
"We all have your back. Even if you and Jack aren't together. We love you."
"I love you guys too." I smiled.
We walked over to the boys.
"So what now?" I said.
"Do you think you can drive me home so I can change?" I asked.
"Yeah." Jack responded.
"Uh, who else drove?" I asked.
"We literally only brought Jack's jeep. We're going to have to squish." Matt said.
"Ladies first." Taylor opened the door for me. I laughed as I climbed in and went into the very back.
They all climbed in and I ended up in the very back with Cam and Nash. Cam was pretty much on top of me. We started driving towards my house.
Jack turned the music up and mostly everyone was talking about something, so Cam whispered to me.
"Are you and Jack still a thing?"
"I don't really know." I shrugged.
"I've barely talked to him."
"I'm glad you're here." I smiled.
I looked up and spotted Jack looking at me and Cam through his mirror.
