The whole plane ride was so fun. Talking about the tour made us even more excited than we already were.

Finally, we landed in Cleveland. We all got off of the plane and off to get our luggage. Along the way, a few fans asked for pictures. After we got our suitcases, we went outside into the front to wait for our driver, who would be driving us to the bus.

"I'm gonna go to the bathroom real quick." I said. I left my luggage beside them and walked inside to the bathroom. I looked at myself in the mirror. Suddenly, the lights turned off.

"Um hello?" I said, trying to find my way back to the door.

I heard rumbling noises, and then the lights turned back on. Alright.

My phone rang with a incoming call from my mom. I answered.

    "Hey mom! What's up?"

"Uh, hey, did you land okay?"

"Yeah. We're just waiting for the driver."

"Um, I'm not sure if I should tell-" I heard whispering in the background. There was a long silence.

    "Never mind." She said.

    "...W-What is it?" I questioned.

I heard whispers again. "I don't want to ruin your day, especially not before the first tour date. But I need to tell you now." She was almost whispering because she was so quiet.

    "You're scaring me.." I said.

"Paige. I desperately do not want to tell you this over the phone, I genuinely don't." She sounded nervous.

"Mom, what's wrong?" I almost started crying.

"Sweetie..." She sniffled. Was she crying?

    "MOM." I spoke up.

"Paige, I- I-" She started breathing deeper and her sniffling grew worse.

I stood in silence. Whatever the news was, I wasn't ready.

    "Ava's dead." She whispered.

    "I, I- How?" I lost my breath.

"A drunk driver- he hit her-"

Her words sunk into me. I started shaking and  dropped the phone. Involuntarily, my knees collapsed and I fell to the floor. I let out the loudest cry I could without allowing the people outside to hear. I hit the cold tile floor repeatedly as hard as I could with my bare fist until I saw blood arise to my knuckles. Tears beyond tears hit the floor, forming a little puddle.

A few hours ago, she was telling me to call her.

I replayed our last hug inside of my head.

"Call me. Everyday." I played her voice.
