"Mom what were you talking to Yuri about?" I asked getting straight to the point.

"Nothing baby that's none of your concern, nor will I explain myself." She said and continuing aiding to Zadie's arm.

"Mom don't lie to me. I know this probably ain't the first time you've talked to him here before and I know that he wasn't saying something good too you. Just tell me mama." I said

She took a deep sigh and didn't answer me back right away. "Your not gonna let this go are you?" She asked and I shook my head no.

"Just like your father." She said. And put a bandage over where she just applied stitches to Zadie's arm. "He was telling me that I'm not safe. And that I need to let him protect me." She said

"Mom He is the one who wants to hurt you. He threatened to come visit you to hurt you and he did." I said

"When did he say that?" She asked

"About a month or so ago. Why?" I asked

"He's been coming to see me since he got
Out. Your father doesn't know, they hate each other." My mom said

"Why?" I asked

"Your father thinks that Yuri is the one who set him up. And Yuri has always had a thing for me." My mom said

"What the fuck." I said and started pacing back and forth in the doorway.

"Mom, Dad doesn't want me in the L5 anymore." I said

"Good. Neither do I. It's not the life for you, and its not the kind of lifestyle I want you living anymore." My mom said

"Zadie, I still wanna find out what Rolland knows though alright?" I said to Zadie who was sitting and listening in the hospital bed.

"I have that covered. While you two were talking I set it up a lunch with him to talk out our differences, and he agreed. We're meeting Friday at six." She said

"I don't want you going alone." I said

"I will be fine." Zadie said

"Are you two like an item or something?" My mom asked both of us.

"Mom, this is my girlfriend Zadie." I introduced

"Well, its nice to meet you girlfriend Zadie." My mom said

"She's also the girl I went to the college with a few weeks back." I added

"ooh, so your the one that got my son interested in college?" My mom said almost sounding annoyed.

Zadie didn't know what to say and neither did I really. She just nodded her head and politely smiled at my mom. My mom was smiling at her too, and she pulled Zadie into a hug. "Thank you." She said to Zadie.

At first Zadie was confused and shocked but then she smiled and hugged my mom back. "Mom I was interested in college before I met her, it just made it stronger knowing that I have a future and that I am able to go to college." I clarified.

"Yeah yeah. If you say so." my mom said and waved me off.

"Is she good to go?" I asked

"Yes, just make sure you keep the bandage dry for at least twenty four hours alright?" My mom stated to Zadie , and she shook her head.

"Thank you. My dad is ready for us any way." Zadie said
