Snow

They woke up late.
Jac got up pulling a dressing gown on
"Where you going?" Fletch grumbled
"Just the little girls room"
"Well hurry back I'll get cold and lonely"
"Christ  Fletch look"
Jac was looking out of the window at a blizzard
"Shit there must be a foot already" he said joining her at the window
"I'm going to have to dig the car out"
Returning from the bathroom Jac picked up her phone
"All the roads are closed, and they're appealing for any staff that can make it to Holby to walk in because lots of people can't get in"
He read her mind
"Urgh really? Are we going in?"
She went over to him and wrapped her arms round his waist
"I am not letting my ward go to shit because of a poxy snow storm. Get dressed Fletcher"
"Aw really. I can't stay here with your arms wrapped round me?"
"Nope" she said kissing his neck
"Not really selling it Jac"
She laughed " come on"
"Ok ok. Let me ring Dad and check the kids are alright"
Jac quickly got ready and was just making a cup of tea
"Everything alright"
"Yeah they're happy to stay there and are planning a massive snowball fight when it eases off a bit"
"Guess we should head out then"
They wrapped up and headed out for the hospital. Trudging through the deserted streets holding hands was almost romantic if they hadn't been battling in to work
"Can't believe you're making me do this"Fletch said
"You love it"she said
"I love you"
She squeezed his hand
"You too"
45 minutes later they were walking through the main doors of the hospital
As DoN Fletch headed to the ED to co ordinate resources from the meeting point that had been set up
All day he was running round sending nurses to different wards and plugging gaps himself. It had temporarily stopped snowing and someone from Keller had sent out for Chinese and pizza.
Grabbing a selection Fletch decided to take a break as everything appeared to be under control for now
He knocked on Jac's door
"Come in"
"Hey gorgeous, you hungry?"
"Starving. Just got out of surgery. Frieda's stuck so I've done a couple of her electives. What have you been up to?"
"Oh you know just running the hospital. I'm pretty indispensable"
She laughed "how do you manage to get anything done with that massive ego weighing you down"
"Oh ha ha. You can talk" he grinned "anyway pizza or Chinese"
"Is that crispy duck?" She asked
"Yeah"
"I love crispy duck"
"Sit" he instructed her
He sat next to her and slowly fed her crispy duck. She took the opportunity to lick his fingers
"Corny"he said "but very sexy"
"Delicious" she smirked
He leaned forward to kiss her "I agree" he said his words vibrating on her lips sending electric shocks all down her body and she sighed softly
"Ms Naylor, I've just made it in. Where do yo.......?" Nicky said barging through the door
Fletch and Jac jumped away from each other
"Dr McKendrick. Thank you for coming in. Bay 3 pre-op and obs to be done"  Nicky stood speechless
"Off you go then" Jac prompted
She turned back to Fletch who was lounging on her sofa eating a spring roll
"Busted"
"Oh I'll have a word later. She'll keep her mouth shut if she wants to pass this rotation"
"Ice queen Naylor"
"That's me" she sat next to him again "but not all the time Fletch. Not all the time " she said cheekily stroking his leg
"Right. Break's over missy" he stood up before he could get any more turned on
"Spoilsport"
"I'll see you later Jac" he walked off whistling
