Too good to be true

"do you want me out of here by teatime? Will  Evie have told the others?" Asked Jac as they l breakfast
"Well I'd be surprised if she hasn't. Seems a little unfair for my four to know but Emma not"
Jac smiled "that would soon be rectified the next time she meets up with Theo but you're right I should tell her before she hears it from anyone else"
"You could" he began tentatively "come round for tea. What time does she get back"
"About 4.30"
"Well why don't you come round about 5ish and we'll break it to them then. We can still take it slow family wise but it just means we don't have to sneak around so much"
Jac stroked his inner forearm "quite like the sneaking round Fletch. Bit of a turn on"
He looked at her suspiciously, trying to work out if she was joking. She wasn't.
"Christ Jac What are you trying to do to me?"
"What do you want me to do to you?"
Fletch guffawed
"Yeah I can't pull that off can I. Sexy flirting was never my thing" she laughed
"You're sexier than you think you are. Got a few hours before the kids are back"
"You're insatiable Fletcher"
"Only with you Jac" he was suddenly serious and led her back upstairs
Finally Jac was leaving to be home for Emma
He hugged her on the doorstep " thank you for a great weekend Jac"
"No thank you. I'll be back soon ok?"
"I'll miss you"
"Don't be pathetic Fletcher" she bopped him on the nose and turned on her heel
Her house felt cold and empty. Sacha was evidently at work and she pottered around in the kitchen nervously. Mulling it over in her mind she decided to tell Emma today and Johnny could find out another day
He took off straight away after dropping his daughter off so there was no time to talk anyway.
Jac sat Emma down with a hot chocolate and she decided to just get on and tell her
"Baby, you know Daddy's special friend is Bianca"
"Uhuh"
"Well mummy has a special friend too"
"Is it Fletch?"
Jac spluttered into her hot chocolate
"Well yes it is. How did you know that?"
Emma treated her mother to a classic Naylor eye roll
"You talk about him all the time mummy. I like him, he's funny"
"Erm ok so is it alright for us to be special friends?"
Emma considered the situation
"'I think it's ok"
"So do you want to go over and have tea tonight? You get to see Theo"
"Yay" she said jumping down from the table
They were outside Fletch's house at 5pm
He opened the door with a grin
"Hi Fletch" Emma said confidently as she breezed past him having spotted Theo
"Hi" Fletch called after her then turned to Jac "and hi to you too. Did you tell her?"
"Yes. She guessed it was you because apparently I talk about you all the time. She's massively underwhelmed "
"Mmm talk about me all the time?"
"Shut up Fletcher" she laughed and kissed him lightly
"How was the news received here"
"Well again all underwhelmed. I think we over thought this far too much. Maybe we're not the big deal we think we are"
"Maybe not. And no body was surprised?"
"No body was surprised. Couldn't hide it at home you see"
"Ok. What's the plan for tea?"
"Spaghetti Bolognese is on the stove and garlic bread in the oven. Red wine 'breathing' .All is well in the world of Fletcher"
"And in mine too"
Just waiting for it all to come crashing down round my ears she thought to herself because this was too good to be true and Jac Naylor had never had too good to be true before.
