"Good news, Nika." Dad announced habang kumakain kami sa isang restaurant. Ako na lang kasi yung anak niyang nasa puder pa niya. "I just knew that Rexodus' father is my employee."

"What? Really??" 

"Yes. Gael Detarro is one of the supervisors sa company. And, nakausap ko na siya. I saw Rex kanina, sinundo niya and I was there with them. At first he was hesitant but then he did not resist. Rex agreed also. Your engagement party is on rush. Bukas nang gabi." Dad stated before he ate his steak.

"Bukas na agad?! We haven't even met--"

"You will meet tomorrow. During your engagement party. Aren't you happy?" He smiled...

"I am... Pero... Nag-aalala lang ako sa iisipin niya."

"Don't worry about him. He agreed, remember?"

"Y-Yes..."

So, the plan is this: I will enter the venue and act like I know nothing. Then, I will go to Rexodus' parents and sit with them. Then, Rexodus will suddenly come near me and kneel down...and propose. I shall act like I'm surprised kahit na alam ko na lahat ng mangyayari. Tshhh. Ang tanga diba?

Naglalakad na ako ngayon papunta sa table kung saan nakaupo sina tito Gael (dad ni Rexodus). Everyone greeted me warmly with large smiles. I smiled back.

"Good evening po tito. Good evening tita." Ngumiti ako nang malawak sa kanila. They are the parents of my new fiance... Kaya dapat wag silang mag-alangan sa'kin.

"Hi hija! Ang ganda mo naman pala!" Tita Ellen said nung bumeso ako sa kanya.

"Good evening din Nika." Bati ni tito nang nakangiti nung bumeso na din ako sa kanya, They look nice. At na-relieve naman ako agad. 

Lumingun-lingon ako sa paligid. Hindi ko pa nakikita si Rexodus. Nasan kaya yun? Excited pa naman akong makita siya't makausap.

"Tita, is he coming?" 

"Who?"

"R-R--"

"Good evening ladies and gents! How are you doing?" The host finally opened.

"Great!" The people said in chorus as they slightly raised their wine glasses.

"So, we're here tonight to celebrate a thanksgiving party to all of you from our very own Mr. de Ayala."

The host introduced the FAKE party. We started with an invocation which was performed by a famous Interpretative group through a lyrical ballet dance. Muntik na ngang pumalakpak yung guests kasi ang galing nung nagperform. :) We also had the National Anthem. Too formal, huh? Ganun ka nationalistic dad ko eh. After that, we sat down.

Hindi ko pa talaga nakikita si Rexodus. Hindi ko ba talaga siya nakita or hindi ko lang siya mamukhaan? Kanina pa ako di mapakali dito sa kinauupuan ko. Ayun, may nagsasalita pa rin sa stage. Talking about business stuff and blah blah blah hindi ako makarelate.

After more than an hour of business talking, sa wakas ay pinagdinner na kami ni dad.

"Tita, tito, he is not coming, right?" Tanong ko in the middle of our meal.

"He is. In fact, he's already here kanina pa." Sagot ni tito bago siya uminom ng iced tea. 0.0 Nandito na daw? Eh hindi--

"Owwwww!" Everybody reacted nang biglang nagblackout. 0.0 OMG, patay sila kay dad neto, ba't di nila sinigurado yung--
