"Hey y/n. A girl and a guy can be friends right?" Hyunjin suddenly asked.

You simply hummed in response, eyes still glued to the screen of your phone as you took a sip of your smoothie.

"As in close friends?"

"Yes Hyunjin" You started.

"But as you know, there are so people who suck and see something wrong with that" Even though it seemed as though you weren't paying that much attention to Hyunjin, your words were sincere.

And at this point, your full attention was practically on him because you could tell that something was bothering him.

"But even so, we can be close friends?"

You finally looked up from your phone, stopped drinking your smoothie, placed it down on the table and locked eyes with the boy in front of you right now.

It was an early Saturday afternoon when Hyunjin asked if you two could go out for a snack or some drinks.

"Hwang Hyunjin where are you getting at with this conversation?"

"You're my type"

Silence fills the air for a moment.
You sigh.

"Hyunjin. I like you too. I mean, you're Hwang Hyunjin for fucks sake-" Hyunjin chuckles at the compliment.

"But just not in that way. I'm not ready for that kind of shit all over again. I'm sorry"

When Hyunjin sees your guilt, he flashes you a small smile, patting your head before saying

"I know, me either. I don't want to be Lee Minho 2.0. So please just bear with my personality and be my close friend because I value you too much to lose you or mess with you"
