Headache

You wobble down to Bruces lab to see if he could help with your pounding headache.

Bruce: Hey, Y/N. Everything okay?

Y/N: I have a pounding migraine. Do you have anything that could help?

Bruce: I could get you some minor pain meds that should do the trick. Do you mind if I also do a few tests just to make sure everything is okay?

Y/N: Go for it. I think its just from all of the HYDRA stuff.

Bruce: Well lets just be sure.

You go through a series of tests after Bruce gives you some medication by IV. Bruce comes back from his computer with a worried look.

Bruce: FRIDAY, can you get Tony up here? Tell him its important.

FRIDAY: He says he is busy.

Bruce: Tell him its about Y/N please.

FRIDAY: He says he will be up soon.

Bruce: Thank you.

Y/N: Bruce... Whats going on?

Bruce: I want to tell you with Tony.

Tony runs into the room and over to you.

Tony: Whats going on? Is everything okay?

Y/N: I dont know. Bruce wouldnt tell me whats going on until you got up here.

Bruce: Uh. No. Everything isnt okay...

Tony: What do you mean whats wrong?

You grab Tonys hand.

Bruce: It looks like... Y/N you have tumor... On your brain... It looks to be cancerous.

At that moment the world stops. You dont hear anything. You look at Tony. Hes talking but you dont hear anything. You just take in every small detail of him. The few grey hairs sprouting in his beard. The constant gleam in his eyes. The way his jaw clenches when hes thinking. Your eyes start welling up in tears as your hearing comes back.

Bruce: Theres always treatments we can do. But im not gonna lie. Those treatments usually do more bad than good.

Tony: Well I'll do anything. No matter the price. We're gonna beat this we... We have to.

You stand up and kiss his cheek and walk out of the room. You walk past Clint and Steve who both said something to you, but you didnt hear them. You couldnt handle a conversation right now. You walk up to yout favorite place in the compound. The roof. You dont know why you always flee to the roof of wherever you are when something happens, but it just feels right. You sit against one of the ledges and just look up at the sky. You hear footsteps come up beside you and you look over, seeing Steve.

Steve: Everything okay?

You shake your head no and he sits beside you.

Steve: Whats wrong?

Y/N: I have cancer, Steve... I have brain cancer...

His face drops.

Steve: Are you serious..?

You nod still looking at the clouds, but letting a single tear slide down your cheek. He pulls you into him and hugs you tightly.

Steve: Im so sorry...

Y/N: So am I.

Steve: What are you sorry about?

Y/N: Tony. Hes not gonna handle this well. Hes gonna need you guys more than anything.
