Getting back on track

Roses pov

Faith had been staying with us for the last 3 weeks now and I couldn't of been happier, getting to wake up in her arms every morning and coming home to her smiling face. What more could I really want but this, mum and dad were just amazing as well when it came to it. Dad changed all of the lock's at her place the day after she got out of hospital and when Faith was more able mum took her over to clean the place, I wanted to help but they all wouldn't let me go and see what had really happened. Even now if it comes up in conversation they change the subject, their not telling me something for a reason I can't work out but it's bugging me. My appeal is still going through since Emma hasn't been seen or heard from since Faith was put in hospital, the cops were struggling to locate her which means Faiths case has also come to a halt for the moment. Adam came to the house a week after my birthday to pick up a few of his things, that wasn't an easy time. He asked where he went wrong with so much pain in his eyes that I struggled to look at him and not hate myself for all iv done to him, He just sat there while I spoke. I couldn't let him think he had done anything wrong as he hadn't, It just I had feelings for another who happened to be a women. He did seem shocked with my admission but not enough that he didn't see the humor in it, Faith even walked in while we were talking. It didn't take him long to work it out then, I apologised for ending it and a lot of other stuff I don't really remember. He just hugged me while telling me I did nothing wrong as I couldn't help who I love, we did promise to stay friends and of course if I knew any good straight women to send his way.

Faith got into the habit of cooking us all dinner once she could get around, as way of contributing to the house hold since my parents wouldn't accept her money. Plus her cooking was amazing, I hadn't realised just how skilled she was in the kitching were as I could burn toast. Daydreaming about us living together in our own place and her making amazing meals while I clean the rest of the house sounded right to me.

''Earth to Rose are you in there?'' Oh crap I had been daydreaming and missed everything that was being said. 

''Sorry mum, what did you say?''

''What I said was I got a call today from Andy, it looks like there going to reconsider you hun for the team. Since Emma has vanished and a few of the others have come forward and made statements about her blackmailing them to get what she wanted. Unfortunately some poor man has lost everything through it all, she got him drunk and has sex with him then blackmailed him to not tell his wife.'' Mum wasn't the type to gosip normalie, but I was glad she had said it because the look on Faith's face said it all. She was as white as a ghost with her mouth slightly open and a look of fear in her eyes. It must be hard to hear it all but least she know what that witch was really like now, all I could do was hold her hand until she recovered enough to finish eating.  After dinner I helped dad with the cleaning up while mum helped Faith into the living room. I hadn't really noticed before but standing here next to him how good looking my dad really was, he didn't even look his age. But what struck me more was how close we really were, I would of always said I was closer to mum then him but this last year he has always been there to talk to and support me. 

''Dad can I ask you something''

''Of course hunnie, whats on your mind?''

''How did you know mum was the one? to the point you planned to ask her to marry you?'' He looked at me sideways for a bit in a way to work out why I was asking. 

''I just knew in my heart that I couldn't go on without making her mine, to a point that all I wanted to do was put a ring on her so everyone knew she was with me. I wasn't sure how I was going to ask her, by this time I had learnt that your mum dont like big display's or being the centre of attention. So I looked up places to take her where it would be just the two of us, found a quiet beach and went from there. God I was so nervous that I hardly talked until I got the courage and asked her to marry me. Why you asking?'' 

''I was just wondering,.... don't look at me like that dad Im not stupid enough to start rushing into that. Faith still has to tell Andy before we can go public anyway'' After our little chat we joined the other and just sat watching TV, dad was squished like a sandwich on the sofa. Mum one side with me on the other and Faith next to me. There wasn't really anything great on so we spent most of it just talking about anything and everything, all the embarrassing story's of me as a kid. Faith was loving hearing about them all, yet my face was so red I could of been past for a post box. Everyone was laughing and having a great time then Faiths phone rings, I sore that it was Andy calling her which must be him checking in on her like he had been every day. Though this time he didn't sound happy at all, I shouldn't be trying to listen in I know but I just wanted to be there for her. Once he had stopped shouting she managed to say that she was at our house and that he best come over, oh dear look's like today is the day he will find out about us. Faith asked that everyone stay in the room when he arrived as she recons he wont take the news well at all. That guy must of sped over as he was already at the door knocking, I got up to answer it and showed him in. 

''What the hell is going on here Faith, you tell me your out the hospital and staying with a friend for a few days. I can't get into you place with my key and now I find out you have been here the whole time. Enough of the games now, your not 18 anymore.'' He was so mad and just standing in front of Faith. Mum tried asking him to sit and offer a drink but he wouldn't take it, I just stood at the doorway not really sure where I should go. Faith was right he wasn't even listening nevermind taking it well. Dad finally stood in front of Andy and I don't know how he did it but without raising his voice, managed to get him to calm down and sit on the foot stool placed in the middle of them all. 

''Uncle please, I'm sorry your upset but you need to listen now. I'm not the 18 year old you had to help all those years ago. I had my locks changed so Emma couldn't get back in my place. I'v been staying here the whole time, Drake and Clair offered when they found out I had know where to go..''

''You could of come to me, I would of worked it out somehow''

''You have done so much for me already, I didn't want to be a burden on you yet again through my stupid mistakes'' 

''Faith your not a burden, your my family and that is what we are here for. But what I can't work out is why your still here if it was only till you got mobile'' Looks like the time has come, I want to walk out the room and hid but that wont help Faith in anyway. Instead I move to the sofa and sit on the arm of the chair until I get a sine from her to move closer. Time was going so slow, what was only a few seconds felt like an hour at least until Faith could say her next words.

''Uncla please there is something I have to tell you, please try to understand'' She moved to the edge of her seat and held out a hand to him as a way of asking for permission but it never came.

''I'm in love with Rose and have been for the last year and she has expressed the same feelings to me. Its why im still here and since she turned 18 a few weeks back, we are not braking the law in going forward to see where this may go'' Taking that as my que I walk over and sit next to her with her hand in mine. Looking over at Andy I see in his face that he's struggling to keep himself together, even with my parents in the room I still fear what he may do.

''Your telling me you are in a relationship with Rose? a pupil from the club you teach! Do you realise the trouble you could be in, not just you but the whole club. And you two can just sit there and accept this? your daughter fucking her coach while under your roof!'' That was the last straw, dad was up before any of us could move, he had the coach up against the wall with his feet dangling ( dad was already a good 6 inch's taller than Andy). 

''You have every right to be annoyed at Faith but don't for one second think you can come into MY home and talk about MY daughter like she is some common slut who sleeps her way to the top. Do YOU UNDERSTAND!!'' I was holding onto mum shaking while tears filled our eyes, Faith had moved over to the men and was trying her best to calm them all down. Thankfully day put Andy down but he wouldn't move until he was happy with the apology he gave me. Faith told him all about how my parents accepted it and have put rules in place that she is more than happy to follow ( including the no sex ). Shortly after Andy left saying he needed to think about what needed to happen next, he couldn't have one of his coaches and pupils in a relationship as it would ruwen the club for ever. What did surprise us was as he left to apologised to my parents then hugged Faith and told her he still loved her before walking out the door. 

''Well that didn't go to bad, not sure about you all but I think it's time we all go to bed'' Mum was right bed sounded good and that way I could hold Faith and comfort her for once as she could use it right now.
