Now Emmeline knew why Kirk had ordered her to hide her face. When Kirk ran into the hotel, several journalists tried to follow him. The hotel's protection effectively prevented them.

Kirk and Emmeline entered the elevator and when the elevator started, he set the girl down.

— What were you thinking?— Kirk asked, shocked. — How could you be so stupid, kid? You ran into the road full of cars! If Winnie did not react, then ... — He stopped, afraid to finish. — Manuela was looking for you everywhere.

Emmeline bit lip. She was afraid of meeting Manuela.

When the elevator stopped, Kirk took Emmeline by the hand and walked out into the corridor. He moved toward Prince's apartment. Kirk opened the door and Emmeline saw Manuela. Manni was crying.

— Emi! — The woman jumped up and hugged the little girl. — Where were you ...

— She was on the street — Kirk said. — One car hit the other and if Winnie did not react, that kid would die.

Manuela looked shocked at Emmeline, who was crying. Manni in a fit of powerlessness gave the little girl a strong slap. Emmeline shouted and then Manuela hugged her tightly.

—Emi — Manni whispered. — My God, Emi ...

—I talked with Prince — Kirk said. —He stopped the rehearsal of the band and is coming back.

Manuela stroked Emmeline's hair. The little girl got scared and stiff. Prince will get a heart attack when he finds out about this incident.

— Manni, I'm scared — Emmeline whispered. Manuela did not answer, just held the little girl in arms.

—It's good that she is afraid — murmured Kirk, to which Manuela gave him a furious look. — You do not have to be angry on me, Manni. I do not want to imagine your husband's reaction.
