A day in the life

A day in the life of Barry/Iris with twins.

Iris:

Iris takes care of the babies most of the time. Barry is usually at work at Star labs or his real job at CCPD.

Since he's not around to help, she usually calls her father or Cisco of Caitlin to come and help out of her rough days. Barry had helped her with them everyday until he had to get back to work for more money. He took a long leave from work just to be with his family.

Everyday iris wakes up to her babies wailing. Barry has already gone by the time this happens, but wishes he could help.

She then brings them downstairs in their portable cribs and puts them in the kitchen with her as she makes her and them breakfast.

She drinks about 2 cups of coffee per day just to stay awake with these kids. They're very tiring. And with their speedster metabolism, she never stops feeding them.

She puts them down for a nap at 12:00 to whenever they start crying for hunger. That usually happens at 3:00.

She usually gets a text from Barry that estimates his time when he'll be home to his family. With Star labs and CCPD he's always busy.

Iris wishes she's busy. She wanted to work at CCPN again so bad. But she realized her children's well being is more important than an article.

Barry will come home at 5 or 6 depending on superhero duty. He drops his stuff at the front door and flashes over to the twins first to kiss them hello and talk to them even though they don't understand it.

Then he immediately races over to his wife and gives her a long kiss that sometimes turns into a make-out session. They take advantage of this alone time because when they get older the twins will be disgusted by their kissing.

He will ask how her day and she ask how his day was.

Overall, Iris loves when Barry comes home to her and the family.

Barry:

Barry's job with the twins is a bit easier. Before he went back to work and left his family at home without him, he would always take care of the twins. He did because he wanted iris to take a break from everything's eh has to do for them that he can't. Like breastfeed.

Barry would give them bottles every time they were hungry and would rock each of them gently in his arms or in the rocking chair in their room. He'd usually sing songs to them to rock them to sleep.

Iris would be asleep when he does this.

He would go downstairs to maybe watch the game or the news when he'd hear wailing cries. Of course he didn't hesitate a second to race to his babies aid.

He's quiet them down and then they'd sleep soundly for the rest of the day.

If Barry made one loud sound, either his wife or his babies would wake up easily. So closing the fridge, making toast, frying eggs, using the microwave, was hard. And with Barry's metabolism, he needed to be eating like all the time. Quiet and speedsters don't mix.

Iris would wake up before the twins went to bed for the night and him and iris would cuddle for hours. They'd watch a movie that was definitely quiet for the twins.

When they'd be out down to sleep, Barry says the same thing every night "goodnight my beautiful babies. I love you. Dream with the angels." And he'd kiss them gently and go to his and Iris room.
