From Rags To Riches: Chapter Thirty

The visualization soon showed that of Anna laying on her bed staring up at the ceiling in her hotel room, she was reflecting back to what Matthew had told her and what Janet had told her; wondering who was lying and who wasn't? she didn't know Janet very well, but from the little interaction she had with her, Janet seemed to be a pretty nice person; aside from the slaps to her brother.

She tried not to tell herself to come to the conclusion as quickly as she really did, but reflecting back to the various times her brother had lied to her during their time spent growing up; she came up with the fact Matthew must have been lying about the affair because of the fact that her husband had an affair and he thought she wouldn't talk with him if she learned he did have an affair. But at the same time, she already had a distant bond with her brother at best; so why would he care so much?

Anna shook her head and began to question what if Janet was the liar between the two? but then again what would Janet's reason be for lying to Anna about an affair? Janet's explanation of Matthew having an affair did explain the cold shoulder towards him and the little remarks, but maybe she was lying for some other reason? however before Anna could dwell to further on it she began to overhear her cellphone ringing- causing her to quickly perk her head up as though snapping out of it, as she reached into her pocket and answered the phone.

"Hello?" Anna asked as an all to familiar voice came on the other side of the phone.

"Anna hi! ..I know it's late, but I thought you would be busy with Matthew and his son all day..so I thought I'd call now." Jessie's voice was heard, as Anna soon rose up from laying on her bed and rubbed her eyes a bit as she shook her head.

"Nrghh...n-no it's okay, I just have a lot of things on my mind," Anna said.

"What's the matter?" Jessie's voice was heard.

"...Okay, look I met my brother's ex...Janet ...you remember her? we saw her briefly before I married the scum ex of mine?" Anna asked.

"Right..how is Janet?" Jessie asked.

"..Snappy to say the least," Anna admitted, as she shook her head.

"To me and my brother when we're together, but when my brother leaves the room she's nice to me," Anna said.

"Really? ..well I mean ex's can be bitter people you know?" Jessie remarked as Anna shook her head.

"I know that Jess, but here's the thing," Anna said standing up as she began to pace back and forth before she soon added.
