From Rags To Riches: Chapter Sixty-Six

Soon enough the visualization changed to that of a hotel room, with Anna seen sitting down in a bed with a bit of a sigh- she was looking towards the wall it seemed, before she leaned back on her bed and began starting up at the wall reflecting back to the events earlier in the day, where Jessie basically told her she was worried that Anna, Ralph, and Melanie would be going to jail- and how she decided she was going to stay in the same hotel as her brother was for the time being.

She began to wonder if she was being a little too hard on Jessie for snapping at her and everything, but at the same time she tried to shrug it off; as she knew she had more important things to worry about, like the situation with her possibly going to jail. She knew she didn't do anything wrong or steal the money, which made her wonder why the investigators that Ralph's mom had hired hadn't found anything just yet, why didn't they turn up any evidence? if it was so obvious she didn't do anything wrong, then she wondered if they were looking at the crime enough, did Ralph's mother lie about even hiring the investigators? or was the thief simply that good? and with this, she closed her eyes as she took in a deep breath of air trying to keep herself calm, before the next thing she knew she overheard some knocking at her door causing her to perk up her head; as she stood up, and began to approach opening it up and revealing Matthew on the other side of the door, as he said.

"Hey, just wanted to come see if you were okay... you know, all you basically told me was "I'm going to be staying at the hotel with you" and then left ...felt like I couldn't really get out of the whole talking with Jessie thing until now, but ...anyway..you feeling okay?" And with this Anna lowered her eyes a bit, as she shook her head.

"I guess so, come in." She said motioning for him to come in, with Matthew entering the room; as he soon added.

"What happened exactly?" And with this Anna shook her head, as she continued on with.

"I HAVE enough worry about going to jail myself, enough STRESS about this whole situation that I didn't need to hear Jessie has thoughts about it too..she ...she brought Ralph's father there because she worries that we will be going to jail and she just wants Ralph to make up with his father, I MEAN...how am I supposed to be okay with something like that?!" And with this Matthew appeared concerned not knowing what to say, before he soon added.

"Look, Ann ..can I be honest?"

"Sure.." Anna said looking over at him, with Matthew soon approaching her bed and sitting down on it; as he added.

"I'm worried too."

"W-...WHAT?" She asked as Matthew shook his head.

"Look before you get all upset and everything, just let me explain it....we're human okay?" He said, with Anna appearing confused and concerned, as he soon added.
