"What on earth is going on here!" I heard a voice I recognized coming from behind me. I spun around to find Caul looking puzzled. "Oh, you poor thing! Scared out of your wit . . . Don't worry, your mother won't hurt you like that again, I won't allow it!"

Okay Kira, calm down, you have one shot at killing this guy, you just have to play it right... Which means... Acting like I'm very confused...Like how I am right now? Yeah, that shouldn't be too hard for you.

"What happened? How did I go out? How long has it been!" I said as I pretended not to feel threatened by this man's presence.

"Your mother tried drowning you, that's why you're all soaked, my dear. My men managed to knock her unconscious, drag her away, and I came to your rescue," He started walking slowly towards me. I looked down at myself, then at the floor, frowned and looked back up at Caul. With his outstretched, bony arms, he called out, "Come here."

Right, this is my chance to kill him, don't mess it up!

I rushed into Caul's welcoming embrace and enveloped him in a warm hug. "You're safe with me, Kira," he said softly as he stroked the back of my head.

"That's what you think, asshole!" I clenched my fists as I grabbed him firmly and let out a surge of electric energy through my hands. Caul started screaming in agony, attempting to push me away, but I refused to let go. Releasing all that pent-up electricity felt incredibly soothing, like soothing a sunburn with cold aloe vera on a hot day.

Suddenly, four pairs of arms grabbed my arms and wrist, pulling me away from Caul's body and taking a few steps back. I was tossing and turning in the arms of my captors as if there was no tomorrow. I was determined to take Caul down right here, right now. It was vengeance for me. For all the peculiar kids who lost their lives, the ones who were also tortured and feared for their lives 24/7. For all the Ymbrynes. For my brother.

We all looked on as Caul fell to the ground, breathing heavily after the intense electrocution. "If you think for one second that you could erase or twist my memory just like that . . . then you're are so dead wrong!" I shouted as I attempted to escape and hurt this man again, taking advantage of his weakened state.

In a moment, Caul rose to his feet, came over to me, and we were standing face to face, "You just don't go down that easily, do you?" he said calmly like nothing just happened a few moments ago.

"You can count on that," I smirked.

"Listen, I'll convince you one way or another! When I do, you're going to help me stop your stupid friends from getting to your mother and the other ymbrynes,"

"I'll never help you, and you'll never be able to-" I got cut off short when someone spoke over me.

"Sir, the serum is now complete. We tested it out on test subject number 403 and the results were successful! We made him be deathly afraid of you, sir," The wight approached Caul, who slowly turned his head towards me with a sinister grin on his face... Well fuck...

"Well then, prepare the chamber and the serum, my lovely niece here is going to have proper medical care here!" Caul said loud and clear in a very cheery voice.

I started to fight against the arms restraining me. I shouted as he started moving down the hallway, getting farther away from me. I twisted, turned, thrashed, and kicked with all my might as I was pulled past the door. As we neared the grey bolted door, a wight graciously opened it for us, and I found myself being pulled into the darkness, much to my dismay.

In the darkness, I deliberately tripped over the wights, causing them to fall and releasing their hold on my arm. Racing as fast as I could, I unexpectedly slammed into a hard surface, causing me to bounce back and fall to the floor. I quickly scrambled to crawl in a different direction, hoping to outmaneuver whoever was chasing me.

The lights suddenly turned on, and I found myself completely surrounded by a large horde of wights. Two of them quickly grabbed my arms from both sides and pinned them behind my back. I began to twist and turn frantically, jumping up and down in an attempt to break free from their hold, all while they observed the blue glowing serum being transferred from a tank into a syringe.

Caul entered the room, holding a photo in his hand. He raised it to my face and exclaimed, "Take a look, it's your mother. Now that you've seen her, the serum will start working its magic... In fact, I'll be administering it to you personally!" He grinned happily.

"Screw you!" I spat at him.

"Stay calm, Kira, this will be over before you know it... Boys, keep her head in place," Caul ordered as a wight handed him the syringe. I kept shouting and struggling as one of the wights suddenly pulled my hair, exposing my neck for Caul to take a shot.

"STOOOOP!" I heard a new voice shouting from the opposite side, a voice I never expected to hear again. "Leave her alone!"

As Caul shifted to the side, Emma and Jake came into view, prepared for battle at the door. After a quick glance in my direction, Caul turned his gaze to the wights. "Get them, throw them in the cell, don't be gentle," said Caul.

I was momentarily distracted, allowing Caul to swiftly inject the liquid into my neck with a syringe. The sudden shock caused me to lose my balance, collapsing to the ground as Caul made his escape. However, before leaving, he paused at the doorway and uttered, "When she stops being difficult, put her in the tank," Suddenly, a sharp impact to the back of my head caused everything to go black.
