Lila

"Lila." A soft voice called. I hummed in response. "Lila." The voice called again

"What?" I asked opening my eyes to tiny slits. Jackson and Jason stood over me. I yawned and tried to sit up only for something to hold me down. Landon is fully on top of me with his arms wrapped around my waist. His head is still in the crook of my neck. His light breathes tickled my neck. I held in the urge to giggle.

"How should we wake him up?" Jason asked.

"What do you think?" I whispered. He stirred a bit and I stilled completely.

"Well... I can't think of anything." Jackson scratched his head.

"Just go start the car. I'll get him up." They both nodded and left. "Landon." I placed a kiss on the top of his head. When that didn't work I poked his face. Still nothing. "Oliver." I tried.

"What?" He mumbled tiredly.

"Landon or Oliver?"

"Landon. Oliver woke me up. I was sleeping good." One eye opened. Then he saw how he was laying. He was across the room in one second flat.

"Did I do something wrong?" I scrambled to stand up. His eyes widened.

"No. I did. I shouldn't have fallen asleep like that." He gave a bashful look.

"It's okay. It was only about," I look at my bedside clock. "15 minutes." I grinned and suppressed a yawn. I just grabbed my bag and started down the hall. I heard him gather stuff behind me.

"I'm sorry." He said softly. I turned around and grinned.

"It's okay. Don't apologize. If your uncomfortable then it's okay." I said truthfully.

"But you are getting affected. I have to do something-" He was stopped when the front door swung open. Jason ran in looking frazzled.

"Hunters!" The second that word came out something came flying, breaking the glass vase between us. A bullet hole lay in the wall. Before I could even scream Landon grabbed me up and ran back up the stairs. The twins came closely behind. I heard more crashing and glass breaking.

"Attention Night Howlers, there is a hunter attack on your Luna and Alpha. Send the first and second battle groups. Repeat there is a hunter attack." Jackson eyes glazed over as he said this. We are in the bathroom at the end of the hall. Thank gosh there is no windows.

"Landon." I said shakily. Hot tears spilled over my cheeks.

"We'll be okay." Oliver whispered back. More bullets ripped threw the door. Oliver covered me with his body and the twins took action. I covered my ears when I heard bones cracking. The sickening sound finally stopped.

"Is is over?" I cried. He simply shook his head. He used his speed to put me in the closet. I buried my head in my hands. The darkness surrounded me. The walls closed in. I heard fighting outside the door. The squeal of tire outside was recognizable. I squeezed my eyes shut and screamed. The walls suffocated me and I couldn't breath. My lungs burned and my throat gave out. Then with one more gun shot I felt a terrible, sharp pain in my hip. I screamed again and me hand flew there. No blood.

Jane said that you can feel you mates pain. Landon got shot. I sobbed and the walls finally shut out all light around me. I let out one final sob and then there was silence. I let my ears go and reached up to the handle. The door swung open painfully slow with an loud squeal. I crawled out onto a warm body. I yelped and jumped up.

"Landon!" I called. There was a low groan under the dead body. Landon pushed the man off him. The white glassy eyes of this dead kid looked right threw me. Maybe he has a son or daughter. Maybe a girlfriend at home waiting around for him to show his face again. We will never know. But I can tell from the burns on his neck and the sharp pain I felt, he did bad damage.

"He tried to kill me." Landon croaked out. His hand was clutched over a wound on his hip. Blood seeped from his finger.

"Landon." Was all I could say. I looked around for a towel. I grabbed one and kneeled next to him.

"Gonna play doctor?" He chuckled coldly.

"Now is not the time to joke." My voice sounded small and weird. I peeled is hand back and almost screamed again. Dark red, almost black, blood was flowing out of a bullet hole.

"I guess I'm the one who is bleeding profusely this week." He tried again. I gave him a pointed look and pressed the towel on the wound. He let out a strangled groan.

"Sorry." Not sorry.

"Check to see if there is an exit hole." He rolled to the side and lifted his shirt. I repressed the towel on his bare skin first then looked. There is nothing but dried blood. Not exit hole.

"The bullet is still in you." He plopped back with another groan.

"It's silver. He also used a silver knife and has silver woven in his gloves." I gulped. "If too much gets in my system it will kill me. You have to get the bullet out yourself. I won't be able to heal if you don't."

"I don't- I can't..- the blood-." He stopped me.

"You can do it. When you feel it just pull it out." He took his belt off, bit it and nodded. I took a shaky breath and took the towel off. With trembling hands, I dug into the hole. His scream filled my ears. As his eyes pinched shut, tears found their way out. I could feel it with my finger tip but I could not reach it.

"I can't grab it." I held my bloody hand away from me.

"Tweezers." He said tiredly. I nodded. I grabbed some from the drawer and dug in again. He screamed again but I grabbed it this time. I pulled it out and dropped it in the sink. But when I turned back he was out cold. The blood came out even more coating my legs and the bottom of my shirt. The last I remember is Jason lifting me off the ground so someone else could get to him.
