The Young Mate

Chapter 28

Lila's P.O.V

      When I woke up I was alone. I stretched and felt a piece of paper. It read,

      Good Morning Cherry,
            I had to go out with Jayden. A good friend of mine is
           there so try to be good. Don't give him any trouble.
           We will be back soon. I love you so much <3
                        Landon

      I slide out of bed and looked in the bathroom as I walked by it. Empty. Then when I reached the living room I looked around. No one in the kitchen or on the couch. Then a cool breeze hit me. I looked out the open window and saw a man sitting on the fire escape smoking a cigarette (pic above).

      "Who are you?" I asked. My curiosity is bigger than my fear.

      "The names Uriley. You must be Lila." He flicked the bud over the railing and looked at me.

      "I am. I'm guessing you know Landon?" I didn't want to get any closer to him.

      "I do. I'm gonna be your babysitter today." He smirked and climbed in the window. I heard Janes door open and her come up behind me.

      "Uriley!" She squealed running over to him. He picked her up an they hugged.

      "Hey squirt." He smiled and set her back down.

      "Do the thing. Do the thing." She urged. His eyes turned all black then veins under his eyes popped out. He opened his mouth and ran his tongue over two pointy teeth that dripped something. Venom I think.

      "Cool your a vampire." I said walking over to them. His face went back to normal. He looked confused.

      "Your not scared?" He said amused.

      "I'm mated to a werewolf and will be Luna of a pack. That stuff doesn't faze me anymore."

      "Touche." He was actually super cool. He was going to be vampire king soon. And he's like 400 years old. Him and Landon met when Landon was younger cause Uriley helped Zachary with a rogue problem. They've been friends ever since.

      "Did you know the oldest vampires have powers?!" Jane said excitedly. She definitely has a crush on him.

      "No I didn't even know vampires existed until today." I laughed.

      "Well he can do super cool stuff." She seemed very excited .

      "Am I just a toy to you?" He said feigning hurt. We turn to look at him and he's laying sideways with one leg bent up and a hand on his hip. We both laughed.

      "Yes now do your thing." She pointed at him while he rolled his eyes. He stayed in the same position but floated upwards, hovering a good 6 feet above the couch. My mouth hung open then he flicked his hand and the fridge opened. A can of soda floated to him. Then we started to float too.

      "Oh my God this is awesome!!" I yelled. Jane seemed to have done this before. I did a front flip and went to quick so Uriley had to catch me.
   
      "Be careful. If you got hurt Landon would kill me." He put me upright and gently pushed me back so I could float around. "I mean he could try but he'd fail."

      "You've never seen me angry." I heard from the door. I turned and saw Landon with Jayden. I was slowly lowered to where if I was on my belly I was level with his face.

      "Uriley is super cool. He needs to babysit more often." I heard Jane say yeah from behind me.

      "What do you like him better now?" I noticed that Landon and Jayden started hovering too.

      "He can make me float Landon! It's freakin awesome!" He frowned and wrapped me up in his arms.

Your mine, His voice was sudden in my head.
I know. I know, I joked.

      "Jealous Mr. Alpha?" Uriley teased. Landon growled and let me go. I floated over to Jane and she had an evil grin on her face.

      "Watch this." We went into the corner as the scene unfolded. They started fighting mid-air. Like not just rolling around like punching each other fighting. But they were laughing.

      "Do they do this a lot?" I asked her.

      "It's like their thing. For some reason when they see each other they throw assaults until they fight. I guess using you as an insult was enough." We both giggled as they continued their fight. Jayden floated over to us with cash in hand.

      "I'm putting $10 on Uriley." He nodded his head like he was sure.

      "I'm gonna say $15 on Landon. He's pretty strong."

      "$10 on Uriley." Jayden and I shared a grin.

      "Wow betting against your mate." Just as she said that Landon went flying into the wall, signaling his loss.

      "I believe the bet was about $35. So we get $17.50." Jayden said shaking my hand. Jane sighed from her own loss.

      "Are you seriously gambling with teenagers?" Landon floated over rubbing his head.

      "Yes I am. I'm making good money here." Him and I laughed maniacally. Landon grabbed my hand.

      "Your not giving him your money." He told me sternly.

      "Who are you my daddy?" I cracked up.

      "Not yet." Uriley muttered. Landon's eyes became the size of saucers.

      "Why would Landon be my daddy?" I asked. Uriley and Jayden started laughing so hard everyone fell to the floor. Good thing we were close to the ground. Jayden took out his phone amd started recording. Landons face was redder than a tomato.

      "Lila can you say that again?" He rasped out.

      "I said why would Landon be my dad-" Landon slapped a hand over my mouth.

      "Not a word." He said slowly giving the two other guys a mean look. By this time the guys were wheezing and Jane was just as confused as me. I can ask him later.

      "Why would she call you daddy?" Jane asked still confused. The guys started laughing even harder then before. If that was possible. At this point they were rolling around on the floor.

      "Nevermind what they say. Now you and Lila go get ready. Were going out today." He let me go and Jane and I hurried to get ready. I wonder what we were doing?
