The Young Mate

Chapter 30

Landon

It's been two days since the disaster at the party. They did the exact opposite of what we expected. Like they knew we had the vampires there. And they had hunters with them. Why would hunters team up with rogues? No body knew anything. Even Uriley couldn't find anything out. And he's the vampire prince.

"Landon we think we found a trail for Lila." Matt said coming into my office. I stood and grabbed my jacket. If I do find her then she will be cold. She gets cold really easily. I followed the guys out towards the meadow. I really wanted to hit myself upside the head with a cinder block. I should've known she'd come around here.

"Her scent ended at the creek. We think either shes outside territory or in the creek somewhere. We wanted to wait for you to go down and look." Another vampire said. We had the vampires out looking for her because we wanted wolves to stay home and take care of each other. Vampires don't get hurt as easily. My mind floated to the last time we were in the creek. Then it hit me.

"I know where she is." I raced down the rocks. The water splashing on me was cold as ice. I hope she's not it it. I found the rock she hid behind when Oliver had chased her. I saw a dark cave and asked for a flair. I scraped it against the wall and it lit.

About two feet away laid my angel. She was covered in blood and her beautiful dress torn in every way. The worst of it was a big slash down her back. It was crusted with blood and flies were swarming. Then the smell hit me. Festering flesh.

My world shattered like glass. Everything was going slow. I saw the vamps rush by me to get to her. I watched and stood there motionless. But the second one went to touch her Oliver took over and pushed everyone away. He growled at them if they tried to come near. No matter how hard I tried I couldn't take over again.

Oliver

Mate is dying. No one can touch her. No one. She is mine. I don't want mate to die.

Third Person

Oliver growled at all creatures in the cave. Even though they only wanted to help. After trying to get jim away from her being nonviolent Matt knew he'd have to resort to the violent way. He used his speed to grab Oliver and push him up against the nearest wall.

"Get Uriley." Matt said struggling to keep Oliver there. He was fighting harder then he ever has. He needed to get mate. Uriley came as quick as he could. He saw what was going down. His heart broke at the sight of Lila and Oliver. He was screaming and crying trying to het to Lila. He walked to him and Oli tried to reason with Uriley to have Matt let him go.

"Sorry brother." Uriley whispered. He grabbed Oli's hair and hit his head hard enough on the wall to knock him out. His body slumped over on Matt. Landon thanked Uriley from the little place inside his head. "Take him to the pack hospital. Make sure there are doctors ready for her."

"Sir we have that stretcher for you." Two newer vampires said. They smelled blood but were able to control themselves thankfully. Uriley had them set it down so he could put her on it.

On the way to the hospital Landon came to. Matt realised and set him down.
  
"You good?" He asked him.

"Yeah I blocked him out. All it took was getting knocked out. He rubbed his head bashfully. Then he saw the stretcher carrying Lila. They were going as quick as they could with her falling off. He went with them as they went to the pack hospital. The whole medical staff was there awaiting the arrival of their Luna.

"Here they come." The head doctor announced. The head nurse got the IV fluids ready, and if needed, adrenaline. They transferred her onto the hospital bed and started running. The nurse stood on a bar on the side of the bed so she could work while they went.

"Her heart rate is slow but I think she's becoming conscious." The nurse attached the IV and Lila's eyes fluttered. "Lila honey. Your in the hospital." The nurse said gently. She muttered something. "What did you say sweetheart?"

"Landon."

"Im right here cherry." He said cupping the side of her face in his hands. But she went back unconscious. They got to the operating room and the nurse hopped off and got the other machines ready to hook up. Her heart was weak but her will to live was stronger.

Lila

I woke up again because another needle went into my hand. I forced my eyes open to see what was going on. I'm on my stomach and people were rushing around me. Then Landon saw my eyes open and he came over to me. Then I started to feel it. My back was on fire. I couldn't help but whimper. My throat was so dry.

"Lila I'm so sorry." His face twisted up. "I should've protected you.  I shouldn't have went and fought." He started sobbing while petting my hair. I tried to smile but my face muscles didn't want to work. I felt something go onto my back and I tried to scream. I did.

"Please stop." I begged them. It was like they were pouring boiling water on me. "Please." As I cried I succumbed to the anesthetic. I hope I never feel that again.

Landon

She passed out again. I stood and wiped my face. They were pouring something on the gash to make it foam. They'd wipe it away then do it again. I had to turn away for he rest of it. The smell was too much.

After they were done getting the infection out, which was actually solid, they stitched her up. They cleaned her up because she was covered in dirt. Then I noticed little cuts on her hands. I held them. And within a minute they were gone. Then another nurse came in with a needle. Rabies shot. Where is this going to end?
