Meadow.., She said before going silent.

"Someone have the doctor set up a room and get ready for us." I said to no one in particular. "Uriley, Blaine come with me." It seems that vampires are more readily available than my pack. But they are being worked to the bone so I don't blame them. We got out there as quickly as possible. I saw two bodies laying, unmoving, in the short grass. I sprinted to them and was by Lila's side immediately. Uriley got to the second girl and turned her over. Jane! Lila saved her!

"Lila, cherry, can you wake up?" She opened one eye and grinned.

"Five more minutes?" She grumbled. I laughed and tears poured from my eyes. I held her tight against my body.

"You can sleep when you get to the hospital to get checked out." She instantly got upset.

"Please don't make me go back. I don't want to go back there." She buried her head in my neck and cried. I pet her hair and rubbed her back at the same time.

"Okay we won't go there. We can go home and have the doctor come to us." She nodded and started to doze off again. I picked her up bridal style and Uriley got Jane. "Take her to the room meant for Lila. She looks like she needs it more." I noticed her knee was pretty messed up. He nodded and was gone within seconds. I did a slow walk back to the house while Blaine checked the area to see if anyone followed. As we walked I noticed how dirty she was. Like literally covered in dirt and blood. It can't be hers because it's very foreign smelling.

When we got back to the house I took her to our room and to the shower. I took her soiled clothes off and I stripped down to my boxers. I sat her on my lap and cleaned her to the best of my abilities. Them I dried her and put her in her favorite pajama's. I tucked her in and went to the hospital to check on Jane.

"Good afternoon Alpha." The new nurse bowed to me.

"Good afternoon." He nodded back. "What room is Jane in?"

"She is in 235. She just woke up not too long ago." I said thank you and went to her room. She was sitting up in bed with a sour look on her face.

"Hey! How are you feeling?" I asked gently. I tried to hug her but she just stayed still.

"I'm fine." She snapped. I just it roll off my shoulders and I sat down in the chair next to her bed.

"I hope you heal quickly so you can get out of here and back home. You seem sober enough." I studied her face.

"Why does it matter you have Lila." She said her name with pure hatred.

"Because your my sister and I love you." I tried to hold her hand but she jerked it away.

"What is wrong?" I asked concerned.

"My problem is that your always on her side." She scoffed. "Lila this and Lila that. Since when do you care about lil ol' Jane."

"Since you were born. I have always cared about you. Even with Lila still around I care about you." Confusion set it. "Why are you saying this stuff? Your soul sisters?"

"Because if she weren't here then I wouldn't have got kidnapped and people wouldn't be dying." My mouth went slack.

"But Henry said that your the one who lured them away so they wouldn't get Lila." Her face got red.

"Yeah and I regret it. I let Carly influence my feelings. She still cares about her and all that mess. That was a moment of weakness that I will not let happen again." She crossed her arms defiantly. What is wrong with her?

"So you caught yourself caring for her and you never want it to happen again?" I asked incredulously.

"Yes. She has ruined my life. She's the reason I am the way I am." She stuck her nose up. "If she would have just let me fail then I would know how to handle it." I stood up and was more surprised than angry.

"Are you being serious right now?" She looked at me like I was the one spewing that crap.

"What?"

"So she helps you graduate, drops everything for you. lets you walk all over you, lets you ruin her ceremony, and you still think everything is her fault?" I want to leave so badly but I have to know why she thinks this.

"Yes. Ever since she showed up the attention was on her. Before I was the Alphas little sister. Everyone loved me. Then the next Luna shows up and boom everyone forgets the sister. She stole my spotlight. For years I ignored it and pretended it wasn't happening. But then I say something and suddenly I'm the bad guy." Without a word I turned and walked out of the room. As I walked past the front desk the same nurse stopped me.

"Alpha would you like to see her blood work?" She said it like she was insisting. I took it carefully and looked through and everything seemed normal except for one thing. Her blood alcohol content was 0.14. They must have fed her the alcohol when they kept her.

"Put her in detox. Keep her as long as you can to get it out of her system." I handed her the clipboard with a curt smile and walked back out. As I took my time to get back to the house I thought about the one detail. It's like they fed her the liquor knowing she had a problem. How did they know? I picked up speed to the house. I had to know what was going on. Was it Zachary? I knew that he had done those things but we still haven't found him to question him.

If it was up to me I'd just find him and kill him but ever since Lila came into my life I have had different view on things. Plus she's Luna now so she has a say in what happens with the pack. The Moon Goddess would have a bone to pick if I disrespect a Luna she directly approved. I got back to the house and went up to check on Lila. I got to our room and the covers were back and she was gone. I checked the bathroom and no Lila. Then I heard footsteps in the attic. I went to where the ladder was and saw it was down. What is she doing?
