The Young Mate

Chapter 24

Lila'a P.O.V (Read the A/N at the end)

      After we left the meadow we went back to the house so I could pack my things. Someone had brought what we packed my my house to the pack house. Now we are moving it to Jaydens. I am taking as long as possible because I don't want to leave. I know I will be okay. It's only a few weeks. I can do it, right?

      "Are you ready?" Delilah asked. She put a hand on my shoulder and gave me a warm smile. She is like my new mother. I couldn't ask for more than the family I have now.

      "Yeah. I know this seems dramatic but I just don't want to go so long without seeing him. He's my mate." I sighed and sat down. She took a seat next to me.

      "Let me tell you a story." I nodded my head. "Zachary was a very good person once upon a time. We fell in love tje second we found each other. And when he first became Alpha, long before Landon, he had to go away for a business meeting. He was gone for three days I think it was. I was so upset. Then his car broke down. I was devastated. But it happens. Mates can exist away from each other for short periods."

      "But I don't want to." I whined. I sound childish but it's true.

      "You will always have a piece of him with you. Your mates. Don't be unhappy because your apart. Be happy because you'll see each other again." She gave me a pat on my back and left. I realized Landon was in the doorway. He smiled at me.

      "Hey cherry. I have a question." He kneeled in front of me.

      "Okay..." I trailed off.

      "Remember that partial mark I told you about?" I nodded my head. "Well I want to do that. I can't guarantee that I will visit and with a half mark I know we can mink link from far away. I can know myself that you are in fact okay. Can I do that?"

      "Didn't you day I could sleep for days? I don't want to miss you leaving." My bottom lip started to quiver. He laughed lightly and held my chin.

     "Your acting like your never going to see me again cherry." He brushed my hair off my shoulders. I sighed and nodded my head. "Is that a yes? I need to hear it. Cause if I don't get expressed permission it's going to hurt."

      "You have my expressed permission to mark me." I joked. He rolled his eyes at me.

      "Okay so I'm not going to kiss your neck. Your 13. So this is what I'm going to do. I'm gonna run my fingers around your neck and collar bone and your going to tell me when you feel tingles. Okay?"

      "Yessir." I saluted him and we both laugh. He started feeling around on the right side and there was nothing. But then his fingers grazed where my neck and shoulder meet on my left side. It was like a violent cold chill. He grinned.

      "Here?" He did it again and I nodded. All I saw was green eyes. His teeth came out and I closed my eyes. I felt his teeth graze that spot again and I shivered again. They sunk in and it was like getting another shot. They didn't go deep before he pulled put again. I let one eye open and I saw blood come put of two little holes. He licked it clean, weird, then Landon came back.

      "I don't feel tired at all. I feel warm." I did. Like I was wrapped in a fresh blanket out of the dryer.

      "Give it a second." He laughed. I saw a faint night howler flower on my shoulder I smiled and the edges of my vision started to blur.

      "I love you Landon." Did I just say that? Out loud? He smiled widely.

      "I love you more cherry. Now sleep." My eyes fluttered shut and I felt dead.

      After I passed out Landon took me to Jayden's. I didn't wake up until Sunday afternoon. Just in time to get my bag together for school. I was out all last week and had to get my late work in order. The first week back was nice. I was sad because Landon was too busy with meetings to come visit. But if he got bored during a meeting he'd mink link me. And I would mind link him in study hall.

      But the second week I would be lucky to talk to him for 10 minutes. I guess trying to take down a terrorist group takes time. I was hoping that he'd visit that weekend but he told me he couldn't even talk until the next Monday. I got really sad but Jane helped me through it.

      The third week was easier. I was getting used to him being gone. I still missed him obviously. But I know what he's doing is to protect his family and his pack. We talk a little more because things have calmed down a bit. But he warned me the next few weeks he'd only be available for maybe 5 minutes a day. I don't know why it's taking so long but I hope it's over soon.

      I was informed today that Landon cannot talk to me until he sees me again. Which will be a few days before my birthday. That's like two weeks from now. I cried when he told me that. This is getting stupid. I don't know what he's doing but I want it to be over now. Right now. I miss him and I ned him. But I can't have him. Not yet at least.
