Lila
Everyone released a breath when we saw it was just Jane. She looked haggard. I was going to run and embrace her but remembered I'm mad at her. Sorta.
"Where have you been?" Landon all but yelled.
"I was out." Her step faltered and she fell forward onto her knees with a giggle. I then went against my own wishes and rushed to help her up. I did and she swayed a bit before keeping her own balance. "You always come running back don't you?" Her breath alone could knock out a seasoned drinker. I brought my hands back to my body like she had burned me. I retreated back to a shaking Landon.
"The pack was attacked last night. Did you know that?" He yelled this time.
"I heard something like that. I-" Landon cut her off.
"I asked where you were." He was shaking so violently that I could barely keep a hold of his hand.
"With some friends makin some quick money." She spun a piece of fabric on her finger I later realized was underwear.
"Jane Williams you are banished from the Night Howler Pack until you can fix your alcoholic tendices." She wiped her stupid grin off her face and her whole deminor changed. Then she laughed quickly.
"Your joking right?" His silence said everything. "Wait no please. I'm sorry." The falseness of her apologies made me want to laugh. I don't know where my Jane went but she's gone. Hopefully she comes back soon.
"You have 15 minutes to collect yourself and leave." His voice was getting deeper and more raspier. Oliver was ready to shift. I expected her to cuss and spit and fight but she did not. She just cried and dropped a something in her other hand. She was gone as quickly as she came. He turned and our small group of people dispersed. I didn't even notice. I went to pick up what she had dropped. It looked like a handle grip off a bow and arrow.
"Landon." I croaked out.
"What?" He walked up behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist. Then he gripped me so tight to the point of where I was breathless. He smacked it out of my hand and I was about to scold him for being rude. But then he strip of his shirt and then picked it up with that. I was going to scold him for ripping his clothes but he just grabbed my hand and dragged me being him.
"Where are we going?" I asked him. Then he let go of my hand and replaced it with the foreign object. He shifted very quickly and I knew what to do. I climbed onto him and held onto him tightly as he raced threw the woods. Our destination was a small barn a good distance from the pack house. He phased and I took a few seconds to admire his beauty before he got clothes out of a little tote next to the door.
We went inside and was greeted with a long hall with two doors on either side. We went to the last door on the right and I looked around in awe. Very fancy and expensive equipment was against all of the walls in the small room. I clasped my hands behind my back because I was afraid to break something.
"Can you lift prints off of this for me?" I looked to the person he was talking to. A tall girl stood from a low chair in the corner. She took it from him and they exchanged a few words. Her very curvy body made me look at my own and question it. But we left so quickly I barley had time to start walking. I tripped over my feet and He just picked me up and carried me.
"What are you doing?" I asked trying to gather what was happening.
"Your going on lock down." I tried to argue but he shushed me. We got back to the house and he took me upstairs immediately. As we passed the living room a person came with us. Uriley. Every time I tried to talk a hand went over my mouth. The final destination was our bedroom. I was plopped on the bed, given a kiss on the head and that was it. He told Uriley to keep me in the room. Then the door shut. I took a deep breath and thought carefully about what I would do.
_-_
Today is day 5 without seeing him. Anytime I tried to leave Urliey picked me up and sat me down on the floor. I tried to sneak out the window and was yelled at by Jayden. Food was brought three times a day and a mini fridge was put in here too. It held my pickles and soda. I stress ate like no bodies business. I was 4 pickles deep into my second jar of the day and there was a knock on the door. It opened.
"Hey Cherry." I was happy mad and sad. I set the jar down and threw what was left of my precious pickle at him. It hit him right in the kisser. Needless to say he was surprised.
"I want to talk to Oliver." I crossed my arms defiantly. He started to say something but I just said now. Within a second his bright green eyes greeted me. "What the Hell? Like seriously."
"I'm sorry. I really am. It's just we had meetings and pack stuff and we didn't want you to get hurt or killed. We were just so worried about you. This is the only thing we could think to do." He tried to hug me but I stepped back. But my heart broke when a hurt look crossed his face. Then I sighed and opened my arms. He moped over to me and hugged me.
"I'm still mad at you." He sighed and I grinned knowing he believed that I was actually still mad at him. I did have a whole you done speech. Like was ready to throw him out for a few days mad. But then those eyes made that angry go away. I cant ever be mad at this beautiful specimen for any longer than 5 minutes.
"Would you feel better if I took you to dinner?" He asked meekly.
"Are we having an Oliver night?" Every now and again Oliver spends a night out so we can talk and Landon can have a rest. It's like some sort of re-set I guess.
"If you want. Landon could probably could use it. He's getting grey hairs form this." He smiled very widely. I looked very close and indeed saw a few grey hairs.
"You are getting very old sir." I giggled and ran to avoid getting throw somewhere. I locked myself in the bathroom and tried to make myself presentable. Since I only saw Uriley for a few days I didn't really have to make myself look presentable. I brushed threw my tangles hair and forgot for a few minutes people wanted to kill me. After trying and failing multiple times to look pretty I went for average. I put a thin cardigan over a tank top and high waist denim shorts. The I stepped out and put sandals on.
"You ready?" He asked patiently.
"Yep lets go." I grabbed my purse and was about to walk out the door. But he grabbed my hand and put something in it.
"Just in case." I looked at the small cylinder and it looked like pepper spray but a little different. "It's wolfs-bane mixed with regular pepper spray. If you get attacked by a rogue or human this is strong enough to put either of them down." I just rolled my eyes and kept walking.
"Race me?" I asked playfully. He took off in front of me. I "accidentally" dropped that stuff he gave me. What could go wrong?
