Lila
I stepped off the stage and back down the aisle. But this time with Landon. He looked so happy right now. If only Jane could be happy with us. I pushed what happened out if my head as we headed to the dance floor.
It's custom for the Luna and Alpha to dance together., I heard Deli in my head. Oh yeah I can mind link the pack now. I found her in the crowd and waved to her. We stepped to the middle of the large glass floor. Perfect duet By Ed Sheeran and Beyonce started to play. I had to be guided because I was born with two left feet.
"I love you so much." He whispered in my ear. I beamed at him and kissed his cheek.
"I love you too." Soon after people started to join us. After our dance was done they announced dinner was ready. We took our seats at a large table that was raised a little higher than the other tables. Jane was supposed to sit next to me but she was not there. But in the next seat I saw my favorite vampire. "Uriley!" I tried my best to rush and hug him.
"I'm so proud of you lil bit!" He exclaimed coming to me instead. He picked me up and spun me around.
"I didn't see you in the crowd. Where were you?" He set me down so we could take a seat.
"I had some business to take care of." He chuckled. "But I'm here now." The second we sat down food was put in front of us. I scarfed mine down, in a ladylike way, because I hadn't really eaten today. As I leaned over my plate, as not to get my dress dirty, I heard Uriley say to Landon, "You have quite the lady." I rolled my eyes and continued to eat. Then I saw Jane at the alcohol table, making a fuss with the bartender. She was swaying on her feet. Before I could get to her she fell on the ground.
"Jane!" I called out. She was still awake just too drunk to stand.
"They won't give me any liquor." Her words were so slurred I could barely tell what she was saying. "Can you believe that?" She giggled and let her head fall back. I sighed and called Uriley over. He already knew what to do. I would do it myself but this bodice fit like a corset so I couldn't bend over if I wanted to. She only laughed again when he picked her up.
"Is everything alright Luna?" I turned to a pack member I have not met yet. Then I noticed the party had stopped and was all focused on Jane.
"Uhm it will be. I will take of it. Now all of you go back to the festivities. We didn't throw this for people not to dance." I smiled and laughed as the Dj turned the music back on. I followed Uriley up to Jane's room. He out her in bed and I tried my best to help her out of her dress. She could barely tell she was inside instead of outside. I want to know who gave her this liquor because I am not happy.
"I feel terrible." Uriley mumbled. I looked at him expecting to explain why he feel's terrible. "She is just going down hill. I just don't know why she went down hill like this. When she sobers up I think Landon's gonna give a piece of his mind." I just finished putting her pajamas on her and left. Landon was waiting for me at the end of the stairs. He gave his little half smile and put his hand out for me to take.
"Everyone's talking about you." He whispered to me like we were in a room full of people. Mind you were alone.
"Why?" I whispered back.
"Because your a good Luna. And you look so stunning tonight." He said in a normal tone. "I can't wait to see what's under it." He went back to whispering. I felt my face turn red in embarrassment. But also excitement? We returned to the party and it was in full swing. People laughing and dancing. This is what made me happy. Seeing people enjoy themselves.
"Do you think the chocolate fountain is open?" I leaned over to Landon and asked him. He leaned over too.
"Let's go make sure no one's put anything bad in the chocolate." He said back. We looked each other in the eyes and said, "Agreed." At the same time. We sneaked over to the chocolate fountain and giggled as we stuffed our face with fruit. This is how I party. I was amazed I didn't get it on my dress. Then they set out the truffle table and we really started to chow down. After eating at least a third of the dessert we went back to sit down. That's when we decided to make up stories about people based on how they danced.
"Okay okay she grew up like a horse girl." I gestured to a woman who was doing a hardcore sprinkler. "And I think she's mateless. So she lives in one of the studio apartments. And she secretly has a really good body but she hides it with swear pants and extra large t-shirts." I explained. Landon nodded to my guess.
"That guy secretly like to dress up like a vampire." A he secretly pointed to a man who was standing in a shadow. He was making a face like he was constipated and his hair was slicked back like Dracula's. "And he creeps when he walks alone because he truly believes he's a movie vampire. But he's not." He said this all seriously. I started laughing at his theory.
"That's a good one." I sighed and looked up at him.
"It's even funnier because it's true." He cracked up and so did I. When we were at the point of wheezing we were approached by Zachary.
"Luna I was wondering is I could have a dance." He asked. A slow song started to play.
"Yes you can." I composed myself and took his outstretched hand. We went out to the middle of the floor and started to dance. I heard whispers erupt form all around us.
"People think this is the ultimate act of bravery since you are a human." Zachary said in my ear.
"Well I do hope you don't want to slaughter me in front of my pack." I replied curtly. He just chuckled. After he danced then another man wanted a dance. Then another. Then another. I think I danced with all the guys in the pack including a 3 month old. Okay I volunteered to do that because he was just so cute. I could've groaned when another person approached. But I didn't wan to be rude. I turned to a smirking Uriley.
"Would you like a magic dance?" He offered. I accepted out of curiosity. Then I floated barely above the ground as we danced. I looked like I was dancing on my own but it was just Uriley the whole time. What a good friend. Then after that dance I checked the time. 12:30 AM. I was ready to go upstairs and get this dress off.
"Can we go now?" I asked Landon quietly. We stood together. "We are turning in." I announced to the pack. They all turned and ear to listen. "But continue to celebrate and have a good time. Thank you for attending. Goodnight everyone." We said the last part together. They clapped as we went inside. I took off my heels immediately. Then he offered to carry me up to our room which I could not decline. Once we got there I collapsed on the bed.
"So how was it?" He asked slipping his shoes off.
"Tonight has been the best night of my life." I smiled at all the memories I have from tonight.
"I'm sorry about Jane." He stopped getting undressed and sat on the end of the bed. "This was your night yet she still managed to make part of it about her." He patted my leg.
"It's okay. She has her own problems. I can understand why she would act out like that." It's true. Even after all she said and did, I know that her problems are bigger than mine.
"And there you go again. Making excuses for her." He sighed and stood again.
"I don't wanna talk about this anymore." I said trying my best to stand up. But thanks to the nice corset I could not. He laughed at me.
"Need some help?" He grabbed my hands and pulled me up.
"Thank you Alpha." I said teasingly. He leaned down and pointed to his cheek, asking for a kiss. I grabbed his face and kissed him on the lips instead. He grabbed my hips and pulled me closer. I pulled away, breathing heavily. "Help with my dress?" I whispered. He did more than help with my dress that night...
