Lila

Since it's Friday we have to get my head checked out. Even though the swelling is gone and I don't have to take Tylenol anymore. But Landon said something about 'brain damage' and 'comas'. Puh-lease. It'll take more than a rock to kill my stubborn self.

"Are you ready yet?!" Landon yelled through the door. I put my toothbrush don and rolled my eyes. I've been in the bathroom for 5 minutes. He takes longer singing in the mirror than I do in the shower.

"Can I not have some time to collect myself?!" I yelled back. I heard him walk away mumbling. I always win. I opened the door while fixing my jean buttons. I need new jeans already. I met him at the front door and we started walking to the pack hospital. It was hot out for it being the beginning of March.

"Almost there." Landon announced. I got tired of walking and made Landon carry me the rest of the way. We got there and he put me down in the lobby. A doctor, who looks strangely familiar, got us immediately.

"Hello Luna my names is Johna." He was one of the doctors who helped save Landon. "I think you know my son Jayden." There's the other reason he looks familiar.

"Call me Lila. And I do. I like him a lot." I heard Landon grumble behind me and I elbowed him.

"Yes, Lila. Also I noticed that the only thing on your medical records was your birth. Have you ever been to a doctors office?" He asked. Now that I think about it I've never once seen a doctor when I was sick. When I was sick she just fed me over the counter stuff until I was better .

"No never." Landon's eyebrows raised up high.

"Wow. Okay we are going to give you a physical today along with your concussion check up. We are going to sure everything is in working order. Okay?" He smiled warmly.

"Okay. Will it hurt?" I asked him.

"The only thing that may hurt is the shots." Oh I've never had those before.

"Okay let's do it." I smiled up at Landon and he smiled back. After he checked out my head, which was fine like I said, we started the physical. He did all sorts of odd stuff. Like checking my spine and push on different parts of my tummy. He even weighed me and measured my height. I guess this is how all physicals are. When he was all done asking questions anf doing tests it was time for shots.

"We are going to give you a rabies and tetanus shots today. They may or may not leave your arm sore. It depends on the person." A nurse cleaned my arm whilst he got the shot ready.

"Want me to hold your hand?" Landon said jokingly. I gave him a dirty look and rolled up my sleeve.

"It's a needle. It can't hurt that bad." I was wrong. I had to sit on Landon's lap for the second shot. Did it hurt? Yes. Did I cry? Maybe. But are they necessary? Yes. After getting a sucker from the front desk we left. Landon made fun of me for eating kids candy but gosh darn it who doesnt love suckers?

"You wanna go on a walk?" He asked. I nodded my head because there wasn't much to do.

"Can we go back to that meadow?" He nodded and took my hand like I was going to run off.

"You did last time. Remember what happened?" I rolled my eyes as we continued. We got to the meadow and took shelter from the sun under an oak tree. "Okay so I brought you out here for a reason."

"What are you gonna do? Kill me?" I joked. He frowned at me and let himself fall back on the grass. "I was joking."

"We have to have a serious conversation, okay?" He sat back up and looked me dead in the eyes. "This is life and death okay?" I nod my head. "We have all decided it's nest for you to go and stay somewhere else and to go back to school." I took in a sharp breath.

"No I can't. I wanna stay with you." My bottom lip started to shake and my throat burned. "I wanna live with you." He hugged me when I started to cry.

"I'm sorry, Cherry. But I don't want you staying there while my father is there. And it will throw off the hunters if your not here. You won't be too far." He started to choke up as well . "Believe me I don't want you to leave either." I hid my face in his neck and cried even harder. I felt tears on my neck so I know he's crying too.

"Who am I even staying with?" I brought my face out and wiped my eyes. His are puffy and red but also green. Oliver.

"The only one we trust is Jayden. He has an apartment in town. It's a short walk from the school. Jane will be staying with you too so your not lonely." He brushed my hair out of my face.

"Will you come and visit me?" I looked down at my lap.

"I can't promise I will. For the next few weeks I will be meeting with other packs and Alphas. We are going to figure out what we can do about the hunters. I will be in and out of meetings non-stop. When I drop you off that could be the last time I see you for two weeks." A tear fell from his eye.

"I don't want to leave you. I can help. I won't bother you I swear. Just let me stay." I begged. I felt my heart breaking.

"I can't cherry I'm sorry." He held me tight to his chest.

"Can you try to visit? Promise me you'll try." I let my eyes flutter shut. Crying always makes me tired.

"I promise I'll try." A small part of me nows that he is lying but the rest of me wants to believe he is telling the truth.
