Kaneki's P.O.V.

I woke up with the sun in my eyes. So, I rolled over and snuggled into the blanket more before trying to find Hide's body to cuddle. I groaned when I couldn't find him and his side of the bed was cold. I cracked open my eyes to see he wasn't there, but I saw a note on the bedside table. I moved over so I could get it. After I got the note, I laid on my back and read the note before I smiled.

It said:

Good morning, babe. Sorry, I had to go to work early. And I also get off later then usual because one of the other guys got sick. So, I'll be home late. :(

But please save me some dinner, if you make any? I promise to gave you and Ichika lots of love when I come home.

He's so loving. When I got pregnant, I was worried he would leave me. But he stayed instead and is amazing dad. He's the only one of the two of us that can work right now. So, we're just living off of his paycheck. His dads help us out too. Even though we don't ask or tell them a whole lot. But they love us and their granddaughter. Hopefully after Ichika gets a little bigger and can be taken care of by a babysitter, I'll get a job. A part-time one least.

I put the note back on the bedside table before sitting up and yawning. I stretched too. Then I got out of bed and walked toward Ichika's crib that was in mine and Hide's bedroom. I rested my arms on the edge of her crib and smiled as I looked down at her. She was still asleep and laying on her back with her arms above her head. She sleeps like Hide sometimes. I moved the blanket over her because she moved it in her sleep, along with her stuffed bunny that she loves so much. Then I gently rubbed my fingers in her small truff of black and white hair. She moved a little bit at my touch. Then I took my hand away from her hair and kissed her on the forehead.

Then I stood up shright and walked quietly out of the bedroom. I went to the kitchen and made myself toast with butter and a banana. And I got my reading glasses, laptop, notebook, and pencil off the coffee table before sitting at the kitchen table. I also got my earbuds, so I wouldn't wake up Ichika. I take online college classes because I can't go to actual class while dragging Ichika around all day. It's Sunday, so Hide doesn't have his classes today.

After while of me doing my work and taking notes, there was crying coming from the bedroom. I set my pencil and notebook down and took off my earbuds before standing up and jogging over. I opened the door and went to Ichika's crib.

"Shhh-shhh, it's okay, baby." I said as I rubbed her hair and wiped away her few tears. She calmed down and looked up at me with her grey eyes. "There, you're okay." I said before she smiled and giggled. I smiled back before putting my hands under her arms.

"Good morning, darling." I said as I picked her up and kissed her on the head. I got her blanket and wrapped it around her. "What do you want to do today?" I asked before she tried to grabbed my glasses. "No, those are mine. You can't have them." I said as I moved her hand away from my glasses. Then she just held onto my shirt.

"Do you need to be changed?" I asked myself as I held her up more and checked her. "Nope." I said as I lowered her and saw she was nibbling on my t-shirt. Well, Hide's t-shirt. I was wearing it because it actually did fit, but it looked a little baggy on me. Most of my old clothes are to small because after being pregnant with Ichika. I still have pregnancy fat left over and my hips got wider. So, for now I'm just wearing Hide's shirts, a hoodie, and sweatpants. Not that Hide's complaining about me wearing his shirts. He thinks I look cute in them.
