Hide's P.O.V.

I was walking into school when I saw Kaneki at his locker. He was putting up somethings and got some of his notebooks and a pencil out. We've known each other for awhile now. Some people were bullying him and I became his friend. I almost couldn't stand him being all alone. And I developed a crush on him. He was sweet, kind, and a little nerdy. But I like him for it. I called my Mary Jane just to tease him a little. When I walked up to him he was putting his black hair behind his ear. He was also checking his face and hair in the mirror for some reason. Maybe he was looking to see if there was a penple or a zit or something.

"Hey, Kaneki." I said before he looked at me and smiled. He had black hair and kind of pale skin. He's eyes were also a reddish color. He said it was a bad gene that was passed down because his eyes are also more sensitive to light. He was also wearing a blue sweater, a white button up, and jeans with some tennis shoes.

"Hey Hide, how are you?" He asked.

"Good. What about you?"

"Good." He said before the bell rang. "And we should get to class."

"Yep. Come on." I said before he nodded. Then we started walking to class and I put my arm around his shoulders. After our morning classes, we went to lunch.

"So, are you going to Jess's party Saturday?" I asked Kaneki as we ate.

"No, you know I don't like being in big crowds. Or being around people for a long time. School is enough for me and I go home and recover a little bit."

"What about me?" I said before he chuckled.

"You're fine."

"Okay good. But if I go to the party, will you go with me?"

"I don't know."

"Please?"

"Mmm?"

"Please? Please?"

"Fine." He said as he sighed

"Yay!" I said before he chuckled.

"You're such a child."

Time skip~~

I went to Kaneki's apartment to pick him up for the party. It was a pool, so I had my swim trunks on. I got to his door and knocked at waited a little bit.

"Door's unlocked!" He said from the other side of the door. I opened the door and went inside. He was sitting on his couch, reading a book and was in jeans and a t-shirt.

"Dude." I said.

"What?" He said as he looked up at me.

"It's a pool party put on some swim trunks."

"I wasn't going to swim."

"Okay, but least look the part."

"Hide, it'll be fine."

"No, it won't." I said before he sighed.

"You're not going to let this go, huh?"

"Nope."

"Fine." He said before closing his book and put it on the coffee table. Then he stood up. "You can sit down if you want."

"Alright." I said before sitting on his couch. He went to his bedroom and got a pair of swim trunks before going to the bathroom. I just waited for him as I played on my phone to change which was taking what felt like forever.
