"What"
That was what most of the Hermits where thinking, but only Doc said it.
Grian shuffle in place, clearly nervous, "We can't really describe it in a good way but we can show you"
Before anyone could ask anything everything turned black. As there eyes closed without warning.
Wels opened his eyes to find himself in a dark empty room.
Suddenly three bright spotlights turned on. Once his eyes adjusted to the new light he saw what the light was shining on, and stumbled back in shock.
There on three separate uplifted tables where the three Architechs, and something was definitely wrong. There skin was gray and so was there hair. And there where a few places where glowing lines showed, each Architech having a different colored glow. Red for Mumbo and green for Iskall. Weirdly enough Grian didn't seem to have the same glow.
Wels tried moving closer, only to be stopped by an unseen force. Turning around to look for a different way through he spotted the other Hermits, he quickly made his way over.
He was just about to speak but he was stopped by the sound of a door sliding open and eight people walking in.
The first three were all males, all well dressed with a symbol that looked like the Architech logo but turned upside down. They all had brown hair, but all different shades. Secondly two scientists walked in and they wasted no time moving to the table with "Grian" on it, starting up machines and pulling out different instruments. And lastly two guards walked in dragging in a screaming and fighting Grian, pure terror was etched onto the short mans face.
He spotted saw one of the scientists take out a needle filled with a void like substance and immediately froze, but soon his thrashing started up again, more desperate now.
"Keep that away from me! KEEP IT AWAY!", Grian's screaming grew louder and more desperate as the scientists approached, "I'LL DO ANYTHING, JUST PLEASE LET ME LI-"
He never got out anything more as the needle was stabbed right into his heart, and as the liquid within was bushed into him he let out a blood curdling scream that was sure to haunt the Hermits for the rest of their lives. Soon Grian's screams quieted, and not long after that his eyes glazed over and stopped blinking.
But his body didn't disappear, which meant that he was dead. For good.
The two guards moved him to the table that had been brought out next to the robotic version of the human, scientists at the ready.
The procedure that followed was, gruesome to say the least. To spear you the details Grian was treated like one of those frogs you dissect in school, and they also extracted his soul.
So now they had a bloody cut up body and a glass bottle with the thing that made Grian, well, Grian!
They moved quickly, disposing the soul into a tube that led to a pipe that then led to the android body on the other table. And soon the glow that emitted from the other two androids was appearing on the Grian android.
As everything was fading the last thing Wels saw was all three waking up and changed there appearance to look like the Mumbo, Iskall and Grian the Hermits where use to.
When they woke up again they saw that they where all still in Hermitville but on the ground instead of standing up.
"Wh-what was that?" Asked a shaken Ren.
"My creation" sighed Grian, phantom pains lacing his words.
"So, your all androids?"
"Correct"
"Huh, cool!"
The wolfs comment took all three androids aback. He didn't mind that they weren't alive? That they'd lied to everyone?
Grian looked up at Mumbo and whispered something to him, and once he got a whisper back and an encouraging smile he let the holograms on his wings drop. Where feathers once were now mechanical large ones, they where rustic in coloring.
Some of the Hermits, namely Tango and Doc, went up to admire the newly reveled mechanisms.
"He looks like a kid in a candy store!" commented Ren, a quite chuckle leaving his lips at the sight of the builder preening at all the attention he was getting.
"He is technically not even a year old yet, so I think your observation makes sense" replied Mumbo, a calm expression rested on his face as he leaned against his house.
A comfortable silence set between the two as they watched the other Hermits enjoy themselves.
But as the sun started to set Ren couldn't help but ask, "So what now?"
The mustache android gave a gentle smile as he answered, "Nothing, we just go on as usual. What happened is long gone. Plus the people who made, and known how to make, us are long gone. And from what we've seen Buildstone's crumbling at the seems. We have made sure that none of there codes left in use, so we are safe.
And thank you all for staying by us (me) in all of this."
Woo! I should be asleep but I wanted to finish this! And in case no one got it the last part of this was me talking to y'all, I thank you all for your support throughout all of this, it been a little over a month and I'm so thankful for all you've given me!
I don't know what I did to make you all like me but I'm happy I have some good qualities!
Now I want to know what y'all would like me to start as a side project, a look into the Watchers or a chapter dedicated to a fusion (it has te be with Grian since he is the only one with the knowledge of how you fuse)!
