It had been an accident, a freak twist of fate. This wasn't supposed to happen. All of this and more echoed around Iskall's head as he was yelled at by Xisuma and False. Not that he could hear them, his head was buzzing way too much for that.

Let's start from the beginning, shall we?

It all started when the Architechs deciding to do some battle practice, since Iskall was the only one of them knew how to fight. Which lead to Mumbo and Grian dying to Iskall many times over and over, and they were all having fun! And before they knew it, most of the server joined in to watch them. Everyone having fun.

But then it happened, that fateful accident no one was soon to forget.

Iskall and Grian had been fighting, sparing using their swords. And the builder was lasting longer than last time, so Iskall decided to put a little more force into his attacks. And as he swiped at Grian he expected the other to block the attack, but the gremlin didn't do that. Instead he ducked, but Iskall had swung to fast. So the sharp diamond blade sliced Grian across the face, or more specifically across his eyes.

Grian fell to the floor with a loud scream of pain as everyone's communicators buzzed with a notifaction.

Iskall has made the advancement [Blinding]

Almost no one knew what the advancements requirements where, except a few. Joe and False where among the few that knew, and they were horrified. They quickly rushed forwards, running past shocked Hermits as to get to Grian.

Joe got to work quickly, placing down his ender chest and pulling out shulkers worth of medical supplies. He knew there was nothing he could do but to ease the pain, but how he wished he could fix this. But that wouldn't happen, Joe knew that. He'd seen the advancement announced in chat like everyone else. Shaking his head he focused on putting towels damp with regeneration and healing potions over Grian's eyes, whispering comforting words to the small Hermit.

False on the other hand had gone up to Iskall, murder in her eyes, "What the fuck Iskall?! Why did you do that?"

"I-I don't know," whispered Iskall, more to himself than the blond, "What did I do?"

"What did you do? You blinded Grian! That's what!" shouted False, jabbing a finger at Iskall quite harshly.

Iskall froze up completely, and so did everyone else who didn't know what the advancement meant, "...No, I couldn't have!"

"But you did," hissed the blonde fighter, "Didn't you see the advancement?"

The Swed had, but he had no clue what it was, or what the requirements where. And he told False as much.

"It requires you blind someone permanently, and the person you blinded was Grian"

And that's why he was now here, being yelled at by two of his friends, one of which happened to be Grian's husband.

"Break it up you two! Can't you see he didn't mean to hurt Grian? I know you want someone to blame, but Iskall isn't that person!" shouted Joe, fed up with the two Hermits attacking Iskall like that, "How about you instead help me with Grian? You know, be useful?"

"Damn, Joe snapt," whispered Tango in aww, forgetting for a second the situation at hand. That is until Grian whimpered in pain, and he was brought back to what was going on.

The two backed off from the scandinavian, False going to stand watch over Grian whilst X went up to cradle his husband gently in his arms. And as soon as Xisuma was within reach, Grian reached out to grab at the Void.

And that's how the two of them stayed for awhile, Hermits leaving slowly until it was only the two of them. It was stuff like this that X enjoyed, just spending time cuddling with his beloved and watching the sky. But his eyes darkened as he remember what situation they were in, and that Grian would never see that sky, or anything for that matter, ever again.

"Xi? What's the matter?" asked Grian, who Xisuama could have sworn was asleep just moments before.

X didn't say anything, he just cradled Grian's face in his hands, thumbs brushing gently across the bandages on the builders face, "You don't deserve this, this shouldn't have happened to you"

"But it did," said Grian gently, taking X's hand in his own and intertwining their fingers, "And all we can do is to make the best of the situation"

"And what good can come out of you being blinded?" asked the admin, shocked that his husband could see this as something good.

Grian grind up at the other, or where he thought he was, "We have a good excuse to go home and just be together just the two of us for awhile. No need to worry about the server, just you and me relaxing"

"That does sound fantastic," said X, a loving smile on his helmeted face, "especially since I'll be with you"

The two of them stayed there all night, and no mobs attacked them. No one bothered them for the rest of the night.

And two weeks later they returned to Hermitcraft, Grian now sporting an eye mask. It helped him see, but he only really used it when building or exploring new things. He didn't need to see to be the same person he was before. And sure, he'd have times where he wished he could see again, but the people around him helped him through those tough times.

"And the universe said you are not alone"
