~New York City, 1931~

My eyes fluttered open to see Jemma, Daisy, and Zira all around my bed. They were talking to each other with gloomy looks. The three of them were looking at a datapad. I groaned as I glanced down to see myself hooked with several IVs. The three of them must've heard me as they all looked up. Their faces lit up as soon as they saw me awake. As I tried to get up, Jemma immediately rushed over, gently pushing me back until my head hit the pillow.

"You need to rest." Jemma advised. "You were impaled just two days ago."

I scoffed. "I've been through worse."

"You need to stop scaring us like that." Daisy urged.

I let out a chuckle. I then took in Jemma's words, realizing I was only out for two days. Only two days? I thought I was out for much longer.

"Wait, so you're saying I was out for two days? Just two days?" I inquired, rather baffled.

"Yeah, Enoch had Chronicom technology to help heal you. Also Kina and Alotren rushed to the ship to get you spare bacta injections and Bactade. Too bad we didn't have a bacta tank to put you in." Zira explained.

"And to taste and smell pineapples an entire month after getting out of the tank? No thank you." I retorted.

"Glad to see your sense of humor's still intact." Zira mentioned.

"It's going to take a lot more than that to kill me. What happened while I was out?" I questioned.

Daisy, Jemma, and Zira all exchanged looks, frightening me. Don't tell me I missed out on a lot...They all hesitated, but Jemma finally spoke up. "The Chronicoms want to establish Chronyca-3 as their new home planet on Earth."

"And they believed only S.H.I.E.L.D. was in their way of stopping their mission." Zira added.

"So they sent Hunters to destroy S.H.I.E.L.D. and everyone else within it." Daisy chimed in.

I raised an eyebrow. "So the Lighthouse?"

"We lost the Lighthouse." Zira confirmed.

"Teckla, Harrua, Kina, Alotren, Tarom, Ahsoka, Leo, and the others? Are they all right?" I asked, getting worried.

"They're all fine." Jemma assured me. "But we did lose some agents."

"Like Agent Khan and several others that we met not too long ago." Zira informed me.

My face fell. I never liked discovering that we lost lives, even if I didn't know them too well. I've been in enough battles to know how devastating it was to lose those fighting alongside you, whether they were clone troopers, rebel fighters, fellow Jedi, or agents. I let out a sigh. It looks like the odds are always against us.

"And there's something else you should know...we have gone back in time." Daisy mentioned.

My eyes widened. "What?"

"We had a problem that Fitz and I could not solve, but Enoch provided a possible solution. The Chronicom Hunters have Fury's Black Box as well as centuries of anthropological research to pull from." Jemma explained.

"Uncle Alotren also mentioned that the Chronicoms put you in their Cerebral Fusion Machine." Zira chimed in.

I nodded. "Yeah...it was awful."

"Which means they have your memories and knowledge as well." Jemma pointed out. "Our team needs an expert in S.H.I.E.L.D. history to have a chance of stopping them to even know what the Hunters might target."
