I let out a sigh. "I'm gonna get some fresh air."
Feeling distraught, I walked out of the facility. I looked up in the sky, fighting back the tears in my eyes. We are so close, I can just feel it, yet there are so many obstacles in our way.
"Hey."
I turned around to see Steve, who wore a smile in attempts to cheer me up. I gave him a small smile, but it didn't reach my sad blue eyes. We have to keep trying, we can't give up. No, we've all come so far.
"We're so close, yet so far from getting them all back." I mentioned.
"Don't worry, we'll find a way to get them back." Steve assured me.
All of the sudden, we saw a groundcar heading towards us. Once the car approached us, we saw Tony in the driver's seat. He looked over at us as he rolled his window down, wearing his usual sunglasses.
"Why the long faces?" Tony asked. "Let me guess. He turned into a baby."
"Among other things, yeah." Steve confirmed.
"What are you doing here?" I inquired.
"That's the EPR paradox. Instead of pushing Lang through time, you might've wound up pushing time through Lang. It's tricky. Dangerous. Somebody could've cautioned you against it." Tony mentioned as he got out of his car.
"You did." Steve pointed out.
"Oh, did I? Thank God, I'm here. Regardless, I fixed it." Tony informed us as he raised a small wrist device up. "A fully functioning time-space GPS. I just want peace. Turns out, resentment is corrosive, and I hate it."
Steve nodded. "Me, too."
Tony then glanced over at me, giving me a teasing smile. "You know I thought you would at least you would know something about this."
"Well I'm sorry I'm not a specialist in time traveling. I've only been back and into the future, but I have no control of it nor do I know how. Besides I didn't study quantum physics. I tried telling that to the Chronicoms, who wanted to go back in time to save their planet." I confessed.
Steve grimaced. "I remember you telling me about them. They put you through lot of pain."
"They did." I confirmed. "But I'm doing much better now. The pain will always be there, but I'm healing. I'm doing much better than I was five years ago. Besides I'm not alone."
"We got a shot at getting these stones, but I gotta tell you my priority is to bring back what we lost? I hope, yes. Keep what I found? I have to, at all costs. And, maybe not die trying will be nice." Tony commented.
"Sounds like a deal." Steve agreed.
Steve and Tony then shook hands to seal the deal. At that moment, Tony pulled out Steve's old shield from the trunk of his car. Steve hesitated. "Tony, I don't know..."
"Why?" Tony asked. "He made it for you. Plus, honestly I have to get it out the garage before Morgan takes it sledding."
Tony then handed the shield over towards Steve, who gave Tony a smile. "Thank you, Tony."
"Will you keep that a little quietly? Didn't bring one for the whole team." Tony mentioned.
"So I take it you didn't give me a gift?" I teased.
Tony wore a small grin. "Actually, I do have a gift for you."
Tony then turned towards his trunk. To my surprise, he took out a lightsaber that was powered by an arc reactor. The hilt was red and golden, consisting of electrum. As I examined the lightsaber, Tony began to tell me more about the lightsaber.
