We turned around to see Clint standing against the door. My eyes lit up. "Clint."
Looks like Nat did it, she was able to bring him back. Clint gave me a small smile and nod. Scott then spoke up. "There's enough for another...if anyone wants to."
"I'll go with him." I said.
Once we got into the suits, Nebula and Jemma began making the proper arrangements needed before we make the last test run. As they prepared the suits, Bruce spoke up. "Clint, Storm, now you're gonna feel a little discombobulated from the chronoshift. Don't worry about it."
"Wait a second, let me ask you something. If we can do this, you know, go back in time, why don't we just find baby Thanos, you know? And..." Rhodey trailed off as he made a choking motion with his hands.
I grimaced at his words. Even if it's Thanos, that's still dark. Not to mention that killing him in the past would do nothing, since I've learned the hard way about how time works. We'd just create another timeline, that's all. Typho's eyes lit up at once. "I'm down for that."
"First of all, that's horrible." Bruce stated.
"Oh come on, it's Thanos we're talking about." Zira mentioned.
"Exactly, and if none of you want to get dirty, I can easily bit off his head." Allie offered.
Bruce looked horrified at Allie's words. "And second of all, what is wrong with you? And thirdly, time doesn't work that way. Changing the past doesn't change the future."
"Look, we go back, we get the stones before Thanos gets them...Thanos doesn't have the stones. Problem solved." Scott argued.
Clint nodded. "Bingo."
"That's not how it works." Nebula protested.
"Nebula's right. Time doesn't work that way." Jemma chimed in.
"Well, that's what I heard." Clint commented.
"What? By who? Who told you that?" Bruce asked.
"Star Trek, Terminator, TimeCop, Time After Time." Rhodey began.
"Quantum Leap." Scott began.
"A Wrinkle in Time, Somewhere in Time, Hot Tub Time Machine. Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure." Rhodey listed on. "Basically, any movie that deals with time travel."
Scott furrowed his brows. "Die Hard? No, it's not..."
"This is known." Rhodey mentioned.
"I don't know why everyone believes that, but that isn't true. Think about it: If you travel to the past, that past becomes your future." Bruce explained.
"And your former present becomes the past. Which can't now be changed by your new future..." Jemma clarified.
Nebula nodded. "Exactly."
"So Back to the Future's a bunch of bullshit?" Scott inquired.
"Basically..." I confirmed.
"Storm is right. We went seventy-four years into the future and we came back. We changed the past to create an alternate future where Earth was safe from the Destroyer of Worlds." Allie informed the others.
Scott's eyes lit up. "Wait, so you've been in the future?"
"And back in time, all the way to the thirties. I'll explain it all later." I assured him.
"Is that seriously the only part you heard? Your home planet was in danger and you're not going to ask what happened?" Zira questioned.
"It's not the first and it definitely won't be the last time." Rhodey pointed out, looking cool and collected.
