~Time Loop #100~

After going through an entire loop, I found myself lying down on the ground outside the control room. I rushed over towards where Phil was. Something about this was familiar. Why were we repeating the same day over and over again? As soon as I turned on the button, waking up Phil, he looked over at me.

"Phil, what's going on, I keep-" I began.

At once he cut me off. "Repeating the same day, over and over again. Yeah, I know. We went over this two loops ago, but you died, so you don't remember."

My eyes widened. "Wait, I died?"

Phil became slightly annoyed, but before he could say anything, Daisy walked in, looking bewildered. "Hey, you'll never believe what's happening-"

"We're stuck in a time loop." I mentioned, cutting her off.

"Yeah, we've been over this before. But you died, so you forgot everything I told you." Phil explained.

Daisy looked us us, completely horrified. "Wait, I died? Again?"

I nodded. "As did I."

"I know this is upsetting for you, but I really want to get back to the part where we're solving this again. Not to minimize your pain." Phil mentioned.

"Fair." Daisy replied.

"You didn't happen to catch how close we are to the vortex this time around?" Phil inquired.

"I think Tarom said it was, like...41 kilometers." Daisy commented.

My face fell. "This isn't good."

Phil wore a grim look. "We're running out of time."

"And someone here is willing to kill." I stated.

"Just to keep us from unblocking Simmons' memory, I mean, I'd ask who, but it's hard to ignore the super obvious suspects." Daisy pointed out.

My stomach churned upon the thought that someone in our team would be willing to kill just to protect Jemma's implant. It was even more frightening that Zira was amongst one of the obvious suspects.

•••

With that in mind, we made our way to the lab, confronting Enoch, Jemma, Deke, and Zira. Once we told them that about implant, Jemma didn't even deny it.

"So you know about the implant?" Jemma questioned.

"Wait, what?! Did I tell you about it?" Deke asked, looking horrified.

Zira rolled her eyes. "I wouldn't be surprised if you blabbed about it. You lie like a Gran."

"Do not...whatever that means." Deke retorted before turning to face Phil, Daisy, and me. "Please say that wasn't me."

"The how doesn't matter. What matters is that you guys are protecting a secret." Daisy corrected.

"And someone tried to kill to keep it." I added.

Jemma raised an eyebrow. "And you think it was one of us?"

"To be fair, you were the one killed, so that makes you less of a suspect." Phil informed her.

"Hang on. You think it was one of us?!" Deke exclaimed.

"Yes, we want to protect Leopold Fitz, but killing seems rather shortsighted and counterproductive." Enoch pointed out.

"Exactly, what would we gain if we killed anyone one of you? If we get pulled into the vortex, we also die. Not to mention, that everyone here on the team are friends to me." Zira stated. "I would never hurt anyone here."
