"That's unfair and very well-timed. Wow. Right as I'm walking in." Nathaniel said as he walked over towards us. "Hi, Nathaniel. The three of you took me hostage, changed my life."
"Yeah. How about you unchain us, and we can hug it out?" Daisy suggested. "And Hydra and S.H.I.E.L.D. can be together at last."
Nathaniel was taken back by Daisy's words. "Hydra? I...I look like Hydra to you."
"Damn right." I retorted.
Nathaniel pointed over towards one of his men. "Take a look at Ron's suit. Guy's here 'cause he's got mouths to feed, not 'cause he worships a space octopus. No, religion's not really my thing."
"I don't want to know what your thing is, kid." Sousa retorted.
Nathaniel then turned towards Sousa before tapping his shoe. "But it's you, Daniel. You're my thing."
Sousa then lunged forth, trying to grab Nathaniel, but failing due to his cuffs. Sousa ended up falling to the floor. Nathaniel immediately backed up. "Whoa, come on. Danny, you know, I know. Daisy here can move things without touching them. And you? You either fought the Krauts in diapers or you're aging much slower than the other sixty somethings I know."
My eyes widened. Nathaniel thinks Sousa's an Inhuman? Neda spoke up at once. "He's not what you think. He's not..."
"You mean he's not an Inhuman? He'd better hope he is." Nathaniel warned before he let out a chuckle. "See, uh, the family business I dabbled, but nothing really spoke to me. Perhaps you remember that from our conversation, Skye Mace."
Nathaniel then glanced over at Daisy. "However that changed, when I met you. Saw what you could do. Whoa."
"You haven't even seen the half of it." Daisy retorted.
"I really hope not. And a cool thing to say, by the way. Your whole vibe is just...great." Nathaniel complimented.
"That's why you took us hostage?" Sousa asked. "To find-"
"Hostage would imply that I'm using you as collateral to get what I want, when in fact, everything I want is right here, flowing through your veins." Nathaniel informed us, cutting off Sousa.
"This isn't the super serum. This is genetics." Daisy corrected.
"Yeah, but I'm rich. It cuts down some barriers." Nathaniel shot back. "Plus, Hydra families keep in touch. I mean, Dr. Reinhardt has some very helpful tips. What's he always saying? Discover requires experimentation."
My stomach churned at his words. Sousa furrowed his brows. "Dr. Reinhardt? Didn't we catch him in the war?"
"Yes, and thank you for your service. My generation just does not say it enough." Nathaniel mocked.
Daisy narrowed her eyes. "You mean Daniel Whitehall."
Upon hearing Daisy's words, he looked at her, rather surprised. I could feel Daisy's anger rising from within as she spoke. "I will crush you."
"Yes, do it. Just one bone shaker and it's over. Show me what makes you so special." Nathaniel urged.
Daisy tried to use her powers, but it didn't work. Daisy let out a sigh as she shook her head. "I can't..."
"Nathaniel, don't do this. If you go through with this, you will die." I warned.
"Or I'll be the most powerful man alive." Nathaniel protested. He then looked back at Daisy. "We start with her."
Nathaniel's two men grabbed Daisy, who struggled against them. Nevertheless, they pulled her up from the ground. I could feel my anger rising as they dragged her across the room.
