Once we were inside the Earth's atmosphere, I tried contacting the Lighthouse, but I got no answer, making me worried. Did something happen to the Lighthouse? At that moment, Alotren contacted me through my comlink. "Storm, do you hear me?"
I quickly responded. "I hear you loud and clear, Al. What happened?"
"We're in the S.H.I.E.L.D. safe house. Malick sent Garrett to bomb the Lighthouse." Alotren explained. "Yo-Yo placed all the bombs in one part of the Lighthouse. We managed to get Garrett on our side, and he took us to the safe house. But he was shot by one of the agents."
My eyes widened at his words. Garrett helped us? And now he's dead? Looks like we missed quite a lot. I furrowed my brows. "Isn't the safe house the same place that Koenig ran his speakeasy in the thirties?"
"That's the one." Alotren confirmed.
"What are you doing there?" I questioned.
"We received a coded transmission, which led us to the safe house the one that was a cantina ran by Koenig." He clarified.
"All right, we'll be there as soon as possible." I assured him.
With that, I led us towards New York. As soon as we landed in an empty alley in New York City, I turned off the engines. We then made our way inside the safe house, we saw several agents with their guns aimed at us. No doubt these were the last agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. left. Many agents I didn't recognize or know, but I spotted Victoria Hand. Amongst the agents were Phil, May, Elena, Alotren, Teckla, Harrua, Rex, Ahsoka, Gida, Zira, and Kina.
"They're with us!" Phil exclaimed.
Once we approached the team, we gave them hugs, relieved and glad to see them in one piece. Rex wagged his tail before lunging towards me, licking my cheeks. I chuckled. "Glad to see you too, Rex."
Phil looked over at Jemma. "What happened?"
"Do you recognize any of these people?" Deke inquired.
Jemma shook her head. My heart dropped. Will she ever get her memory back? I turned to the others before explaining to them what was happening to Jemma. "The Chronicoms did something to her memory."
"She's forgotten all of us, names, faces, everything." Daisy added.
"Then she'll just go off on something from the past or being married or-" Deke chimed in.
Jemma cut off Deke's words as her eyes fell on the bar table filled with several components that I hadn't seen before. "Math is my faithful husband."
"Like that." Deke pointed out.
Jemma then made her way to the table, inspecting the components as though she had seen them before. What were we going to do now? The Chronicoms are gonna attack Earth at any moment.
"Any idea why we're all here? Or who sent that message?" Daniel asked.
"That's an 0-8-4 in and of itself." Phil mentioned.
"We can't stay here too long. The Chronicoms are coming, and they seem to be planning some sort of landing or invasion." Mack commented.
"So we need to be ready for the next move." I advised.
"I was hoping the 0-8-4s might be just that." Phil confessed.
"Maybe they are." May stated.
We watched as Jemma began moving the components around, putting them together in a matter of moments. Deke furrowed his brows. "What are you doing?"
"Holy matrimony." Jemma mumbled as she continued putting the components together to become one device.
"How do you know how to do this?" I inquired, rather baffled.
