As we made our way into the temple, Izel's song got louder. May turned on a flashlight, while I ignited my dark blue lightsaber. Sarge glanced down at his tablet. "There's no signal down here."
Cinra let out a sigh. "We're blind."
May scoffed. "Of course we are."
As we got closer, we noticed Sarge stumbling. He placed a hand on the wall, he closed his eyes.
"Are you okay?" May asked.
"Get me to her." Sarge spoke, sounding strained.
"Maybe you should just-" May suggested.
However Sarge cut her off. His voice had deepened drastically, scaring May and me. "Get me to her."
I glanced over at Cinra to see her struggling. She was still fighting it. May and I exchanged a look. We're going to end this once and for all. Once we reached Izel, we saw three monoliths behind her. I furrowed my brows. Those monoliths looked like the ones we had in the Lighthouse before they were destroyed, creating the rift. A wicked smile appeared on Izel's face as soon as she saw Sarge. She wore a robe this time, looking like a priestess.
"You seem much more like yourself. And just in time. They're on the other side, waiting for a sign." Izel commented as she walked up one of the two pair of stairs and towards us.
As soon as she approached us, May took out a knife. "Why don't I send you through and you can tell them yourself?"
"Stand back." Sarge ordered. "She's mine."
Izel grinned. "I've always been yours."
"Not like this." Sarge shot back.
Sarge then used his powers, grabbing Izel by the neck. He then pushed her back onto the ground. Once she was on the ground, Cinra, Anara, May, and I rushed down the stairs. Sarge took out his sword, horrifying Izel. "No. How do you still have that? It doesn't belong in this world."
"Neither do you. I've watched you destroy planet after planet. All you are is death. Even that song cuts through me like death. This pain I'm done with it." Sarge explained.
Sarge raised his sword, but before he could reach her chest, he stopped. His hands were shaking as he walked back near the portal. Izel let out a sinister laugh. "You can't do it, can you?"
I raised an eyebrow. "Sarge?"
Sarge stood up, stumbling back. I then heard Cinra let out a groan as she fought in control.
"Do you remember now?" Izel inquired. "They're waiting for the sign."
"She's playing you, Sarge." May retorted. "You hear me, don't you?"
"Don't listen to her." I chimed in, trying not to lose him.
"Like you have new senses, new understanding." Izel stated.
"Don't let that thing inside you take control. There is good in you." May argued.
"You're more powerful than the thing that's inside of you, Sarge. Don't give in." I pleaded.
"Look at me!" May exclaimed.
Izel scoffed. "Your friends doesn't know when to quit. Tell me. What do you feel?"
"Anger and fear. Fear of this pain that's been a knife in my heart for so long." Sarge revealed.
"That's love. That pain is love. I know because I was afraid of it, too. But you let me feel it. You gave that gift to me." May confessed. I watched as she made her way towards Sarge as she continued. "You pulled me out of that cubicle, you gave me purpose, a crew. Remember me. Remember us. Daisy, Storm, Tarom, Gida, Maya, Mack and Yo-Yo, Fitz and Simmons. You love us."
