Marinette knocked on Adrien's bedroom door, holding her school bag over her shoulder. "Hey, Adrien."The door opened to reveal the blond, smiling widely as he allowed his pigtailed friend inside. "Hello, mon chou! What are we gonna do today?"
Marinette giggled at his excitement, putting her bag on his bed. "Well, after dinner, we're going to study."
Adrien pouted, still holding the door for Marinette to walk back out. "Oh. R-Right."
Marinette picked up on his disappointment, frowning as she linked his arm with his, walking down the steps with him. "What would you have preferred?"
A light blush found the boy's cheeks. "Cuddles?"
"Are you feeling upset?" Marinette asked as she allowed Adrien to open the dining room door for her.
Adrien shrugged, pulling out a chair for her. "Do... I have to be upset for cuddles?"
"No, of course not." Marinette smiled, her own cheeks beginning to burn. "We can cuddle anytime you'd like."
Adrien nodded, smiling widely. "Yes!"
Marinette laughed at him as their dinner was placed before them. They gave their thanks and began to eat.
"But, unfortunately, my amazing cuddles will have to wait," Marinette told him. "We have to study for the English test."
Adrien pouted. "Aw, okay..." Then he thought for a moment. "Wait... what book did we read again?"
Marinette paused with her fork in her mouth, completely perplexed. "Adrien Agreste, are you telling me you didn't read the book at all?"
"I read it! I did!" Adrien then scratched his neck nervously. "I just, um, skimmed the beginning and ditched the end?"
Marinette shook her head. "Well, no wonder you failed! You don't even know the title of the book!"
"J-Just tell me..." Adrien said softly.
"It was Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet," Marinette said, leaning closer to him, elbow propped on the table as her chin rested on her hand. "I must be really distracting if you can't remember that."
Adrien's face darkened, giving her a timid smile. "I guess you are."
"We'll have to re-read the entire thing!" Marinette exclaimed. "Good thing we have until Tuesday."
"But what about cuddles?"
Marinette patted his head. "Later, chéri. Later."
Adrien pouted and put the fork in his mouth.
The two teens finished their dinner before returning to Adrien's bedroom. Adrien threw himself on the bed, while Marinette searched through her school bag.
"Okay, so I have the book, which we need to read cover to cover," she said, taking out the book, "as well as a bunch of sticky notes and a preparation packet for the essay portion."
Adrien raised his eyebrows. "Well, you're prepared."
Marinette joined Adrien on the bed. "Of course. Anything for mon chéri."
"Thank you, Mari," Adrien said, knowing to be thankful for her help, however, not really wanting to spend precious time with Marinette studying. "Then we cuddle?"
Marinette laughed. "You just want those cuddles so badly, don't you?"
Adrien nodded, sitting up with sparkles in his eyes. Marinette rolled her eyes, laying beside him, and pulling him closer. He settled in her embrace, closing his eyes as she caressed his cheek with his knuckles.
