Adrien and Marinette sat on the couch in their pajamas. The freckled girl had her back to her counterpart as he gently brushed her hair.
"I'm finished," he said. "Swap."
Marinette took the hair brush and, in return, gave him a red rubber bands. "You do the left. I'll do right."
Adrien hummed as they both each made a pigtail with her hair.
"Done!" they said in unison as the once again pigtailed girl turned to face the boy behind her. They fist bumped. "Pound it!" Then they kissed briefly and cuddled into each other on the couch with their kwamis on their laps.
Sabine laughed quietly from the kitchen. "They really are a great team, aren't they, Tom?"
"They certainly are."
Tom smiled at the kids with adoration, grabbing a blanket off the couch. Sabine held the other end, and together, they placed the blanket around the two teens.

Adrien suddenly started shaking and turned into Marinette, whimpering uncontrollably. Marinette, startled awake by his panic, brought him closer to her, and stroked his cheek.
"Hey, babe, it's okay."
Marinette's parents came around the couch and settled beside their kids.
"He's having nightmares, too?" Sabine asked.
"N-No, Mari, don't die!" he cried. "I-I love you..."
Marinette nodded, holding the boy tightly. "Seems like it."
Plagg flew up to his chosen's head and gently ran a paw through his hair. "It'll be okay, kitten."
Suddenly, Adrien jolted awake. He looked around at the concerned faces staring at him, before whimpering into his hand and bursting into tears.
Marinette rubbed his back. "I know, I know."
Adrien shook his head. "Y-You lied, Marinette..."
"What?"
Adrien looked up to her. "You... You promised me I'd n-never have to see you die like that again!"
The pigtailed girl sighed, bringing him to lean against her. "Oh, Adrien..."
"You were just dying over and over," the boy sobbed. "I couldn't do anything but watch it happen..."
Adrien couldn't find himself calm until the whole family had their arms around him. He'd always felt better with a Dupain-Cheng group hug. It was warm and comforting. His breathing finally steadied, and he was okay.
"Sorry, guys..."
Sabine pressed a kiss to the boy's head. "Don't apologize, dear."
"Yeah, it's not your fault, son," Tom told him. "And don't worry, we have that appointment in the morning. They may be able to prescribe you something to help with that kind of anxiety."
