Marinette giggled in excitement as she turned out the lights in Adrien's bedroom and turned on the flashlight on her phone, facing it upwards to illuminate her face in a rather frightening way. Adrien swallowed nervously as Marinette joined him on the bed, sitting cross-legged in front of him.

"Last chance to back out, chéri."

Adrien vigorously shook his head. "No, tell me!"

"Okay, which should I tell you?" Marinette thought for a moment. "Oh! A couple weeks ago, Alya forced me to watch this horror movie called The Visit with her. I hated it, but Alya claims it wasn't that scary, and you're probably braver than me, so if I could survive watching it, it should be fine for you to hear a story about it."

Adrien took a deep breath. "Oh, okay. I'm ready."

"Okay, so it all began on a normal day. Becca and her younger brother, Tyler, say goodbye to their mother as they board a train and head deep into Pennsylvania farm country to meet their grandparents for the first time," Marinette began. "See, before they were born, their mother ran off to marry a man she was deeply in love with, but her parents didn't approve. Evidently, the man left her and his kids at a young age, leaving them all pretty screwed up."

Adrien frowned. "I know the feeling..."

Marinette rubbed his head comfortingly as she continued her story. "Becca wanted to create a documentary about meeting her grandparents and uncovering the full story of what happened the day their mother ran off. She wanted her mother to gain her parents' forgiveness."

"How is this supposed to be scary?" Adrien asked.

"I'm getting there," Marinette replied, amused at his sudden lack of patience. "The kids were welcomed by their Nana and Pop Pop, and everything seemed pretty normal. Nana made them food, Pop Pop told them stories. All seems well until the siblings start to notice increasingly strange behavior from the seemingly charming couple."

Adrien grew nervous. "L-Like what?"

"Well, after 9:30 every night, Nana would act rather strange. It started with projectile vomiting. But that was explainable, right? She just had a stomach bug. At least that's what Pop Pop told them in the morning." Marinette gradually leaned towards him as she spoke, making her words more intense. "But how could he explain when Nana ran around the house nearly naked or when she clawed against the walls, or watched them sleep, holding a knife in her hand?"

Adrien backed up to the head board, attempting to hide his fear to the best of his ability.

"Well, he said Nana had sundown syndrome, causing her to become a bit delirious after 9:30." Marinette continued. "This satisfied the kids for a while until suspicious behavior could be seen in the daytime. For example, they found Pop Pop in the shed with a gun down his throat, claiming he was just cleaning it. And when Becca and Tyler were playing hide and seek in a sort of maze beneath the house, their Nana chased them like a rabid animal as if she was trying to kill them!"
