River Flows In YouMY EYES WANDERED at the two musical instruments in front of me, contemplating what would I use.
Although old, the wooden rich brown color of the violin was begging for me to pick it up. But I only know bits of playing it.
The lever harp was the only one I could play.
I started using it since I was five, and now I can play it even with my eyes close. The pale and almost white wood of the harp engraved with curvy lines on the side was a contrast to the dark and rich brown colors of the violin.
I'm grateful the strings were still intact.
I wanted to challenge myself and play the violin for my papa's birthday celebration, kahit isang piece lang.
I only had one month left.
"Ate?
Do I still have a choice? I want to perform something special for papa's birthday but I can't risk performing something awful.
I fixed my half-bun.
My nine-year-old sister was wet, waiting for me outside the door.
She put her index finger in her pouted mouth, then quickly snuck inside the room and closed the door.
"Eliff!
Great. I have no choice but to fix the mess that she did again- unless I want to hear mouthful sermons from Mama. Great thing she's out somewhere to buy ingredients for our food.
It's been one week since we moved here. Papa's asthmatic, and his doctor advised him to move somewhere he can breathe fresh air.
