Getting back to me

Brinah pov

Life has really hit me hard these past couple of months. Since having my beautiful baby Demia, I haven't really felt like myself. Like, although I've gone back to work and I'm starting up my new business, I just don't feel like I'm myself anymore.

Meechy has been trying to help me feel better but, I think it's more of an inside job for me to do. I love him so much for even putting up with me and my insecurities.

"Babe!," Meechy yelled, bringing me outta my thoughts.

"Yes? I'm in the laundry room.."

"I was thinking, since it's been a while since you've been out with your girls, how about you go out and have a girls day and I have daddy-daughter day with my baby." See what I mean. He's just so damn cute.

"Aight, let me hit them up and see if they're up for it," I said.

"Actually, they should be pulling up any minute now. I had this all planned out. Just go enjoy you're day. If I need help I'll call ya mama." I hugged him so tight and kissed him. He told me to hurry and get dressed because the girls were on their way.

After my girls day, which included the spa, getting my hair, nails and makeup done and shopping. I made it back to an empty house. I immediately texted Meechy to see where he and my baby were. While waiting for his response, I started putting the things I bought away. He called instead of texting

Meechy: Babe relax we'll be back in a minute.

Brinah: Well hurry up cuz I miss y'all. Feel like I haven't seen my baby all day.

Meechy: I'm pulling up right now, cry baby ass. Open the door

I ran downstairs so quick and opened the door. I grabbed my baby from Meechy, who was dressed pretty fancy, randomly.

"Meechy, what is going on? And why are you dressed so damn fancy?" He said nothing, as he walked in and cut some music on.

"Look, I wanna spend some quality family time with you, if that's alright."

"Meechy, what are you up to?"

"Just go get dressed," he told me, grabbing Demia outta my arms. "Put on that black and white outfit I like."

"Sir, yes sir."

After getting dressed, we headed out to who knows where. I was just so happy to not be sad anymore. I would ride anywhere with Meechy. He's my heart, the father of my child, and probably the man I'm gonna marry, one day.

We pulled up to a building and got out. I didn't ask any questions. I just let him lead the way.

"Babe, you ok? You're quiet," Meechy said, as we walked up towards the building.

"I'm just waiting for you to stop being so damn mysterious."

"Aight, Aight, Aight, so, I've noticed how down and sad you've been since having Demi. And I just wanted to show you my appreciation," he said, opening the door of the building, "With that being said..."

"SURPRISE!," everyone shouted. All of my family and friends were here. Even people I haven't seen in years were here. My cousins, aunties, uncles, Tima, Vena, all the girls from the shop, my mom, of course and so many more.

At this point, I was literally in tears. Meechy went all the way out for me. Just to make me happy. And to think, I was so mean to him when we first started dating. Look at us now.

After a while, the party was still in full affect. But, Tima grabbed a mic and was prepared to make an announcement.

"Excuse me, can I have y'all attention, please."

Everybody settled down and got quiet, waiting for her speech.

"Since birth, Brinah you've always been there for me. And I can't thank you enough. Even through our falling outs, which only last a few days because we can't be separated for too long, you're always having my back. And vice versa. You are my sister for life and I love you so much. Thank you for loving me and giving me my God daughter."

I was crying, of course, but all happy tears. After her, more people came up sharing how I've changed their lives in a way. To say I was grateful and happy was an understatement. Lastly, Meechy went up.

"Uhm, y'all know I'm not much of a talker, but," he said, making everybody laugh. "Brinah, baby, you are my entire world. Without you, I honestly don't know where I'd be. I wouldn't be a father to the best daughter in the world, or become a better man all just by loving you. You are my heart and soul and I can't let you go another day without fully being mine."

Everyone gasped and the music cut off. I felt like we were the only two in the room at the moment.

"With that being said, Brinah," he paused and got on one knee. "Will you do me the honor of becoming my wife?"

Everybody was screaming and clapping. I said yes and he slipped the ring on my finger and got up and kissed me with so much love.

Never in a million years would I think that I'd be in this position I'm in right now. A business owner, a mother and soon to be wife. My life has come a long way. And I'm so thankful and blessed to be in this moment.

Aight so boom 🤣 I know I haven't updated in so long. But, life has happened, so to say.

But, here goes the inside look on Brinah and Meechy.

Ooh yea and I get to meet Dave East next weekend and I. Cannot. Wait! It's like the best thing that's happened in my life in months, so hopefully it goes well. 😁
