"Err, what are you doing?"
"None of your business"
"Look, your trainer said to 'go to the red hall'. Maybe you're colour blind or something but we just went past it" you pointed behind you at the red double doors leading to where he should be.
"I'm going to the experienced heroes' hall, where I should be" you huffed in annoyance, knowing that you won't be able to look after this ignorant hero if he carries on like this.
There was still one hour left of training and since Jungkook missed out most of it because of his unexpected appearance with the villain, he was ordered to join the new recruits until the end.
You suddenly remembered the conversation you had with Mr. Bang and how he had managed to persuade you to look after the twenty one year old.
--------------------1 hour earlier-----------------
"Her?!"
"Yes. Miss L/N will have her eyes on you so you don't pull the same stunt like today" you turned to face the short mind reader.
"I can't look after him, I'm way too busy as it is helping with training-"
"Don't worry, most of the heroes this week are being sent around the country for extra help. Except for the new recruits, of course, which means that you'll be with Mr. Jeon anyway with the new recruits' training. I'm just asking to keep an extra eye on him" it was difficult for you to say no, he was the CEO after all and Nightingale would not be happy if they found out you denied his request.
"... alright, Mr. Bang. I'll make sure he doesn't get in to trouble"
"Don't I have a say in this?! I don't want someone to follow me around!" the brunette exclaimed while crossing his arms.
"Believe it or not, you have no choice. Miss L/N, I want you to stick with him from 6am until 6pm" and with that, he bid you farewell before leaving you to alone.
-----------------------present-----------------------
You watched as the boy, who was still wearing his hoodie and jogging bottoms, walk up to the blue door and looked through the window.
"Hey Joonkong! Or whatever your name is- get back here!"
"It's Jungkook. Remember it because you're going to see it everywhere soon" you rolled your eyes at the ignorant boy before walking over and grabbing his arm.
"This way to the red hall"
"Don't touch me"
"I have permission to touch you and maybe hit you if you get on my nerves" the both of you glared at each other before the other looked away in defeat.
"Whatever" pushing past you, he started to make his way to the red hall.
How rude, you thought. Following behind him closely, you witnessed as he entered the correct training hall while you followed suit. Seeing many people training around the hall, your eyes widened at the number of heroes around you.
Usually, in other companies, they would only hire around thirty to fourty new recruits each year. But looking in front of you, you estimated that there was at least seventy people. Seeing a trainer next to the entrance, you walked over to her and tapped her shoulder.
"Excuse me, is this the new recruits?"
"Yes, who are you?" Realising that the trainer had yet to meet you, you pointed at the Nightingale logo on your shirt.
"I'm with the Nightingale program. I'm here to keep an eye on one of your new recruits"
"Ah yes, I've been informed. Make sure to not disturb the others" nodding your head, you looked back at everyone and tried to look for Jungkook. You finally found him lifting many weights, amazed at his power of super strength.
"It must be tough for you to look after Jungkook" you looked at the trainer briefly before returning your gaze at the strong boy.
"Well, so far it hasn't been easy..." you chuckled nervously, knowing that it wasn't going to be any easier.
"Think of it this way, he's just eager to get out there"
"Well he could be a little nicer about it" you stated. Averting your eyes around the room, you watched as two people were safely dueling each other and you noticed one of them could turn invisible and pop out of nowhere before striking the other.
"Well, knowing his power I can see why he thinks he's better than everyone"
"I don't think super strength is all that great. I mean sure, you can probably hit something to the other side of the country but other powers are much more fascinating" you explained as you continued to watch the duel.
"Super strength? What do you mean?" You looked at the trainer who was furrowing her brows in confusion.
"His power? I saw it in action this morning"
"His power isn't super strength though..." this time you were the one confused.
"Wait what?"
"It's power mimicry. He can copy others' abilities" trying to comprehend the new information, you realised that the villain from before did seem super strong when he had kicked the desk and that he was able to withstand all the punches coming at him.
Looking back where you thought Jungkook would be, there instead was an empty bench.
Looking around the room, you tried to find where he had went but he was nowhere to be found. Hearing the door open and close behind you, you looked back and saw no one enter which had meant someone had left.
"Oh no you don't!" Running to the door, you swung the double doors open and entered the yellow hallways. You looked for the troublesome boy but you couldn't find him, even though you could hear running footsteps getting more faint by the second. You then realised what his powers were and also about the hero who could disappear, making you connect the dots.
"I don't get paid enough for this job"
