"Ugh, we have a new classmate coming today"

"Why is that bad?"

"More competition, duh" Hyori explained to you before huffing in annoyance. The teacher had announced the day before that a new student was transferring in to your class.

"So what, I bet they're not even that great" Jiyong stated nonchalantly while scribbling away in his notebook.

"Apparently they have been transferred from the year below" Taemin added, remembering his conversation in the student council meeting.

"Wait, so they have just skipped a year?!" The short haired woman exclaimed, making the rest of the class look in her direction in surprise before returning back to their conversations.

Suddenly, the door opened to reveal the teacher and a dark haired boy with the academy's blue uniform.

"Everyone! Attention to the front, please! Now, as I've said yesterday, we were expecting a new student to join us. I know everyone has already made friends so please welcome the new student as you've done before. Introduce yourself" the old teacher stepped aside so that he could let everyone get a good look at their new class mate.

"Hello everyone, my name is Sehun and I hope we can all get along" everyone clapped at his introduction as it was the normal thing to do before they quieted down for further instructions.

"Hmm... okay, you can sit next to Y/N. Wave your hand, Y/N" your eyes widened momentarily before realising that you were told to do something and you started to signal the boy to sit next to you.

Everyone watched and whispered to each other about the new student as he walked past them and towards the seat next to yours. You and the others were sitting in one row near the back and you were sitting at the end next to Taemin.

"Hey, nice to meet you. I'm Y/N" you introduced yourself while making sure to make him feel welcomed as soon as he sat down.

"I'm Taemin, let's be good friends" Sehun smiled at the both of you, feeling much more relaxed than before.

"...Hyori, say hi" the healer whispered to the girl next to him.

"Ugh, fine. I'm Hyori, don't get in my way"

"I'm Jiyong, do you want to have a fight after this?" You mentally face palmed at the other two's 'introduction' and tried to shake off the embarrassment.

"Sorry about them, that's just how they are..." you tried to reassure the younger while smiling shyly at him.

"Haha, it's okay. Hi Hyori, I won't get in your way and sure, I'd love to have a fight after this" all four of you looked at Sehun in surprise, unsure if you heard his response clearly.

"I like this guy already" the fire breather stated while giving an okay sign with his hand.

"He's not bad... welcome to the academy" the seducer responded expressionlessly, deciding to re-evaluate her judgement.

"Thanks, I look forward learning with you guys"

"I look forward working with you guys" Taehyung announced before smiling at his training group.

Everyone else looked sceptical at the ex-villain who was now joining Zeus. It was the first time that they had seen an ex-villain wanting to be a hero and train with them.

"Alright, you may join the others. Continue what you were doing" the new recruits nodded at their trainer before returning back to what they were doing.

The blue haired male looked back at you with a nervous smile and seemed unsure about joining them.

"What's wrong? Aren't you going to join them?" You asked while walking over to him.

"I don't think they want me to join them... I don't want to make it uncomfortable for everyone" you mentally aw'd at his shy behaviour before slapping the back of his head.

"Ow! What was that for!"

"So you're telling me, the same guy who was bothering the neighbourhood, damaging shops, joined the bad side, broke my arm and saved my life, is worried about what others think of him?" You listed out.

The other looked shocked at your sudden outburst before smiling widely and stuffing his hands in his pockets.

"You're right, I should show them I'm a new person now"

"That's right!"

"...it would have been easier if Jungkook was here" Taehyung sulked, feeling more lonely without his new found friend.

The mentioned brunette has asked for a leave of absence for a few days to return home and since it was allowed for heroes to go back and see their families for 10 days (at the most) every year, they granted him to leave. It had been 2 days since his outburst and you had yet to see him nor know where he even went.

"He'll be back soon. Right now, you should be worrying about yourself" you reminded him before pushing the Zeus hero away.

"Okay, okay! Geez, you're like my mum or something" he muttered after glaring at you once more before joining the rest for training.

Since the whole 'Phantom attack' 3 weeks ago, Zeus has been sent in to overdrive with their training regime.

People were questioning whether their emloyees were good enough to be heroes, since they had manage to lose you nearly twice.

Luckily for you, you had no reporters come and bombard you with questions about what happened since your location was a secret anyway. But after everyone had calmed down, the number of reporters went down and they were mostly focusing on the upcoming festival.

"Try again, Taehyung!" The Zeus trainer ordered at the boy who was trying to learn hand to hand combat from one of his coworker.

"Will do!" Watching Taehyung get in to his fighting stance, he tried to fight better this time. You could tell he wasn't used to close combat and was probably more comfortable with surprise attacks with his power.

"You need to get the basics down first. If you want, I can help you out after training hours?" His partner suggested, wanting to genuinely help their newest recruit.

"Really? Thanks!" Seeing Taehyung smile properly for the first time this week made you happy for him.

"...I hope Jungkook is smiling right now too" you whispered to yourself before walking towards your soundboard inside the booth.

------------------------Busan------------------------

Jungkook walked along the dirt path before stopping at one of the grave stones. His body stood still until his legs gave way and he fell to the ground, tears already streaming down his face.

"H-hey dad... I-its just-just me again this year... I'm f-finally a hero now... I just wish t-that I was a hero before you died...

...and before the old me died too"
