"I call your name but you're not around"

It was now Saturday, a week later after the Phantom appearance. The news was still going on about what happened but not as much as before and the country has started to slowly forget about what happened.
However, there has been an increase of unknown missing cases; there was no pattern and no clues of where they went.
"Another 8 have been reported missing in the Gangwon-do province. Parents and friends are distraught at their disappearance and have created a campaign to find those who have been lost. We'll be updating on the missing cases throughout the day-" someone switched the channel on the TV to another news channel which was talking about the same thing.
"Poor people... do you think it's related to the Phantom case?" You heard someone say in the lounge area of the hero council building.
You had travelled from Daejeon all the way to Wonju where the Hero council HQ was located. You were suddenly called up for an urgent meeting with the head of the Hero council. No one knew what he looked like and not many people had met him.
You looked around while trying to distract yourself from the thought of having a meeting. Noticing a boy and his mother walking up the receptionist and asking for an application to do a power test for her son.
You remembered your first test when you got your powers, but at that time it was for another reason. Around that time, the country was in havoc with trying to round up all the psychic users to put them in for assessment.
A lot of innocent people were brought in against their will because of their psychic powers and some were even forced to go to prison.
The reason why the council called up all the psychic users in for assessment, was because of the vice president of the country being a psychic user himself. They had found out he was manipulating the president's decisions to fit his own and that actually he was the one who was running the country.
South Korea couldn't trust the government and before they could start a revolution, the hero council thought it would be best to get all the psychic users away and show the country that they can handle them.
It was a rough time for some, not being able to be treated the same because of their forced powers.
You were grateful that the laws have changed now. It had been around 14 years since they removed the law of gathering up all the psychic users and now they were treated as equals.
"Y/N?" Looking to your left, you noticed a woman in formal wear looking around the lounge area and smiled once she saw you.
"That's me" you said while standing up and walking over to her. The hero council had sent guards to come and retrieve you for the meeting and since the building was already highly protected, they didn't bother staying with you and returned to their duties."Right this way" you gave an anxious smile before following behind her. For the past week, you had been complaining about how you couldn't get alone time but now that you were truly alone, you took everything back.
The both of you reached the lifts before the woman pressed a button to open the doors up.
"Enter, please" getting inside the elevator, you waited for her to enter also but instead she swiped her card on a reader and pressed a floor number.
